How many ACC teams'll finish in the AP top 25?

Aug 9, 2013, 8:28 AM

I'm thinking barring injury or major disappointment we & FSU r locks then outta GT, UNC, VT, Miami, NCST, Cuse, & Pitt I expect 2 & won't be surprised if any of em holds rank by gettin their out-of-conf stuff together.

I'm goin w/ 4 which may seem a stretch to some.

I know lots here don't consider Cuse & Pitt major contenders but remember Cuse beat Louisville & WVU last year & Pitt had 2 top 25 wins; they've added serious football strength to our conf on the rise. That being said, ACC potentially could be best conf in all the land if ball bounces our way.

Please vote this is my first poll post I'm so excited!!! Stomp the dog rugs!

Sorry Louie, four is the correct answer but I hit three before I thought it out. UM and UNC certainly should make the cut.

Four's a good guess

Aug 9, 2013, 8:36 AM

I agree. I think the Negatron number would be two, us and FSWho, and the Optimist Prime number could be as many as 5 or 6. At least two are guarenteed (unless His Royal Highness Jameis "Nevaplayedasnap" Winston gets hurt or flops), and I agree with your other candidates. My money's on Miami and UNC (especially if the Holes beat the coots).

We must remember though; e$ECpn likely has a strict limit on the number of ACC teams they'll allow to be ranked.

I'd say four isn't too bad of a stretch...

Us and FSU barring disaster and injury are almost locks. But who the other two teams are is hard to guess. Miami is back (again as they have been the last three years) but I really do feel good about their team and coach this year and we'll get a really good look right off the bat against Florida. I think last year was just a blip for Virginia Tech and Beamer, so I don't feel it'sa stretch for them to get back to 9 or 10 wins again this season (especially seeing as they don't play us twice lol). BUT, NC State and UNC have both been knocking on the door of turning the corner as well, and very well could surprise this season and take those positions or add another for us to have five. I don't think we could do 6 because the ACC is viewed so poorly by ESPiN and the rest of the media.

Yeha I donut sea 6 ASheShe skwads wifth < 4 lahhssez but 'tis posible. Ownly SEC, B1G, Big12, or Pac12 teams still get ranked w/ 4.

Dang - I guess I'm the only one with 6.

CU, FSU, NCSU, Miami, and I think maybe GT and either SU or VT. I can't see less than 5 - but I think we're under-estimating the ACC. The ACC teams aren't playing the SEC in every OOC game. :) JK.

And since UL is not in the ACC yet, I can't include them, but they will be 11-1 or 12-0 and possibly play in the NCG.

I think Cuse and GT are going to have pretty decent records this year.

With UL's schedule, they won't make the NCG with 1 loss.***

Keep in mind that one loss in the ACC drops you 10 spots and a loss in the SEC drops u 4 while catapulting the victor 10 spots. Therefore there will only be 2-3.

Results were about what I expected tho I'm kinda surprised so many still think there'll be but 2 ranked @ season's end. I mean there's gotta be at least one more among GT/UNC/Miami/NCST plus a possible dark horse in there somewhere & I'm thinking it might be UVa if they somehow stop #3 Oregon whom they get @ home in week 2 w/ a new coach.

Can somebody please explain to me why Ohio State is ranked lower than Alabama when they didn't lose a game all year & w/ that cakewalk schedule won't this year either?
