How excited are you for Watson's sophomore campaign??

May 7, 2015, 11:43 AM

Watson sure has lots of talent! Please lend me your most honest assessment of how you feel he & Clemson will perform this coming football season!

How excited are you about Watson and Clemson football this coming season??    [Results]

Ecstatic!! Clemson's 1st Heisman Winner!
Very jubilant!! All-American campaign & great bowl!
Very excited! All-ACC performance & great bowl!
Woohoo! All-ACC & good bowl!
Somewhat concerned; o-line'll likely be liability leading to missed games
I'm a coot; Watson'll be constantly swarmed upon leading to 4 losses or more

Including "Woo hoo" as a response invalidates this poll !***

He could be one of the best QBs in ACC history. He will have some down games but if he stays HEALTHY the sky is the limit.

I hope not but the Louisville game last year didn't start to good for him.

No the Louisville game didn't start all that great, but he did throw a perfect pass to Ghop which should of been a long TD if he hadn't of drop it, and DW had just picked up his first 1st down when he got injured.

So you're saying Clemson doesn't have the wideouts this year

May 7, 2015, 2:01 PM

to support Watson's Heisman run??

Bro, he'll average 5 TDs per game between the Louisville & Notre Dame games.

For the last few weeks or so I have been watching a lot of Watson's game film to get excited for this coming season. I'm not worried about his injuries at all considering none of them came from taking big hits. He runs with a purpose and isn't afraid to take big hits to pick up that extra yard. A broken finger due to getting stuck in a face mask and a torn ACL is nothing to worry about. Plenty of players come back strong after ACL surgery. The broken collar bone happened when he was only 180 lbs soaking wet taking live shots from the number one defense in the nation. As for quarterbacking ability, I think he can be the best QB in the nation. Last year he showed the ability to go through all his reads and take the check down when he needed to (except the 2nd half of the NCST game when he started getting greedy because their defense had yet to stop him). He isn't afraid to throw the ball up to let his play makers make plays and most of the time throws them open (great anticipation). His accuracy is unbelievable, when he does throw it up he puts it where only his player can make a play on it, when he throws crossing routes he puts it on the numbers in stride pretty much every time. My favorite part about his game is his touch. He can drop it right over the LB's head and in between the coverage with ease. His only down fall, which I think Streeter will fix, is when he is moving from getting pressured and doesn't set his feet before letting it loose (just go watch his two interceptions and you'll see). The good thing is that at least he keeps his eyes down the field at all times. The kid is great and he is only going to get better.
