I never take any picks serious when they are picking Clemson to trip on our way to bigger and better things. I don't really care who believes it or not, but most talking heads will mostly be dead against Clemson advancing or winning a National Championship game. Remember how many were saying that Bama was going to kick our Clemson Tiger to sleep in 2018, how did that end up for them, 44-16 the good guys and our 2nd National Championship Game with Dabo as our HC!!!
Our Tigers kicked Pittsburgh to sleep 44-10 @ Pitt, we kicked Notre Dame to sleep 30-3 @ Notre Dame, and we beat Bama down in the National Championship Game 44-16 with a 15-0 undefeated season!!!

Actually, there are very serious people. They are serious about generating revenue for their business so their picks are based on driving interest which means revenue in their pocket. Had they used conventional wisdom and picked the same few teams everyone believes will be at the top, no one would talk about their picks or visit their site and this thread would not exist.

As a business model perhaps you’re correct. I was commenting on the absurdity of picking a team who hasn’t won a championship in nearly 40 years but continues to fail at the top levels based on the name recognition of the school and a popular movie from the 90s. I think it’s an unserious pick for the natty. But we will see… I’ve been wrong before 🙂

It is an absurd pick but had they picked Texas, Ohio or Oregon no one would have batted an eye. I have to hand it to Paul F as he mastered using absurdity to drive revenue and others learned from him.

If we lose the weak ACC and have 3 losses, we aren’t getting picked for a playoff. The scenario doesn’t exist where we lose 3 games and don’t win the ACC and still make the playoffs.

Hope our players read this and it gets their attention. We have to be ready starting with game 1, Kelley says this is the most talented team he has had at LSU. So we have to be ready the first week and every one there after. At GT scares me, SMU, U Of L, FSU & usuck will all be tough games. Never know who else on our schedule may be better than we expect.
