How do we match up against the coots this Sunday?

Nov 14, 2013, 3:40 AM

I haven't been able to see us play yet (I will be at the game Sunday) but was wondering for those of you who follow our basketball program closely how you guys think we'll do? I know both teams have only played twice and it's hard to get a feeling for the teams but do you expect a close game, or do you believe we'll win handily?

Either way, I'll be loud! Go Tigers!

The dirt-peckers aren't as bad as they have been before, but neither are we. It'll be interesting to watch, that's for sure. I see us as a very streaky team...if we get on a roll, watch out.

Go Tigers!

USuC is vastly improved over last year. Johnson and Thornwell are both excellent players. We will need to play extremely well to win this game.

Honest question, honest answer. Talent at USC is a significant upgrade from past couple of years. No disrespect to previous players but it's obvious when you see them play. Still a little suspect in the paint against physical teams, only real banger is Carerra. Some freshman mistakes as expected, but we are deep at guard and much taller than in the past. Should be a good game, having played on the road against a top 25 team might give us a little edge.

Against SCU, must stop the dribble drive of Johnson

and Thornwell. Only have one real shooter in Williams. Must win the defensive boards as much of their game is predicated on 2nd shots. Clemson will be by far the best defensive team you have played, as Baylor was just awful. Have to get back on defense(Baylor didn't). Offensively, drive and kick and hit some 3's. Both teams are on the uptick, so should be a very competitive game. I'd expect some zone from Clemson to try to make you beat us from the outside. We need to match your physicality in the paint. I'd expect to see a lot of Harrison and Filer over Roper at 2G to account for Thornwell's length

Thank you guys for the answers. I'm excited. Sounds like it

Should be a good match-up.

USC will be without Ellington, of course

and that is a pretty big deal. USC's guards look pretty good, but point guard could be an area of concern.
