So I've been watching MasterChef, and there's a blind chick

on here on one of the old seasons.

Yes, she's blind and has to cut veggies and operate a stove and food processor.

Wonder what kind of waiver she had to sign? I keep waiting to see some blood start gushing after she lops off a few fingers, but she's actually doing pretty well.

Chefs don’t even watch when they cut veggies. You can somewhat judge by sound when something is done frying or sautéing. You can feel crispy and even the “doneness” of meat by texture. So much is based on taste, which she would still have. But I’d imagine she’s slow moving and methodical. Which would make her hard for me to watch cook over and over. I do wonder, when she throws the spices on the meat and yells BAM!!!, how does she know she didn’t miss?

Yesterday I wiped so many times that I was done. Still getting poop on the paper, but I was completely unwilling to make another wipe. I actually wished I was blind at that moment. But I wasn’t. Instead, I was done! Done wiping. (Only I wasn’t.) But I did stop, to be clear.
