They will always lose games like that. Heck, we shut them down. It was the pick 6's that did us in.

it was one of those 'last team with the ball wins' games
also gotta remember, only team to score more than UNC against the Tigers was UGA
for much of the season, UNC had a potent offense ( and no defense )
and the Heels only lose one starter on offense

GT's D was terrible up to the Duke and UNC losses. After that our D has been playing decent the last half of the season. I'm not sure what Roof did, but it was a good enough adjustment combined with our offense to win games.
Now the UNC game was a shootout; both teams scored on almost every position. I said by half time that whoever had the ball last would win the game.
In the last 5-6 mins of the 4th quarter; GT has the ball and down 5 pts I think. We were all hoping for one of the GT death marches to score and kill the clock.
Guess what happens. On a reverse, our guy runs for 75 yards for a TD and leaves 3 mins on the clock. While I was yelling; I'm thinking go down inside the 10 so we can run the clock. We scored too fast..
UNC drives down the field in 3 mins and scores a TD. ballgame.

After the DUKE/UNC losses, Paul Johnson told Roof to stop playing soft D and start attacking the QB, even if they had to rush 6. Up to that point, we were willing to give up all the underneath stuff......... and we did. Defense played on their heels in those games. After that change, they started being the aggressor. It didn't always work as we have a weak pass rush, but it did result in forcing QB's to make quicker decisions and generally helped the D.
