I support Dabo.I hope he fires some coaches and uses the portal to get some hungry players.

Dabo hates losing just as much as the next guy. I think he will make the necessary changes to get us back.

50/50....the worse this year gets, but the better I feel Dabo will adapt/forced

to adapt.
If we win out and a bowl game we'll hear the "turnaround" season to get to 8 games and it will be a lather/rinse/repeat of 2023/2024

Right there with you phebo. I can't stand losing but if that's what it takes... kinda catch 22.
I really want to see Tony and Louisville in the championship game. Obviously for Tony but those two give the acc the best and only chance to get 2 in the playoffs. So, losing to Louisville is expected, so 3-1 I'd take. Really idc as long as we beat Furman and scar.

I think Dabo is already planning on what he is going to do regardless of how these last games turn out. I do believe that both players and staff are still "auditioning" whether they will be retained next year, but also suspect that his mind is probably made up on some ..... whether they will stay or go. I don't think it will be based on wins or losses but effort and their response to a bad situation.

Fairly confident, my concern is who will Dabo hire on staff to turn it around. As great a head coach Dabo is, his hiring success is more like 50-50. He has made some home run hires like BV & Chad Morris, along with internal hires like Tony Elliott, but has also made some bad hires like Kevin Steele along with 2-3 on staff now.

Venables had been interviewed by Terry Don Phillips for the head coaching job before it was given to Dabo. When Dabo needed a DC, Terry Don suggested Venables because he was viewed very favorably during his previous interview.
I would not credit Dabo 100% for the Venables hire. I think he took Terry Don's suggestion primarily because it came from his boss.

If you were to just look at the data…I’m not sure you would predict an improvement based on trends. Then you ask yourself the question…if you believe in the man at the top and his ability to turn it around….then why hasn’t that turnaround occurred already this season? If not by now, when? If you just look at wins and losses over the last 7 years, what trend do you see? Is the course being corrected by the man in charge?

Zero. I’ve seen is play and what progress the offense seems to have made the defense has gotten that much worse or more.

I’d like to see him fix his mess. I just don’t know if he is prepared to do it the way it needs to be done.

Agnostic until the Jan 2026 transfer portal window is complete

There is no accurate way to gauge who will be exiting and who will be joining the 2026 Tiger team. The 2026 team will be vastly different -- will revisit in March.

My stance is , I will believe when I see it. I have lost a lot of faith in Dabo over these last 5 years.

Not at all. Clemson will be worse next year, at least in talent. And I don't expect him to fire anyone that should be fired.
My only question is whether the people who are confident are genuinely stupid, or are they just fully delusional?

I guess that depends on what "turning the corner" means . . .

in "quantitative" terms, which itself, depends on how we finish this year. If 4-8 is the final, then what will be turning the corner? 6-6? 8-4? 9-3? Too many unknowns right now.

It may take more time than one offseason, but I think Dabo will figure out what to do to turn things around. But he may decide to step away. I don’t expect it bc he’s a fighter, and I believe he wants to be the one to get us back to the top. But it would not surprise me because he doesn’t like this NIL/ portal era. It’s antithetical to what he’s all about.

This season, I was expecting next year after losing all the veteran talent we have on the team. Losing our QB.
This year I was expecting CFP for sure.... 50/50 on playing in the natty before the season started.
This year, happening now (and not next year) might be good for the program in the long haul.
I have been critical in the past about these young Clemson fans only know when we were on top. I was a student in 1998 and remember that season well. It made me appreciate our great run under Dabo a bit more and I know things ebb and flow.
That being said.... we have one of the highest paid coaching staffs in the country and facilities to match. Bad years can happen and I believe Dabo will fix it, but with that salary comes equally elevated expectations. Best should be the standard.

Unfortunately, this is the type of season we needed to get Dabo and others to open their eyes to needed change. Time to reassess coaches, staff and players and not let loyalty rule the day. Time to open the portal gate and bring in new blood to compete for every position on the team. IMHO, the current players feel too safe and secure. Time to put up or there is the door no matter how many stars you had.
Go Tigers!!!!
