To Pick up on "Penthouse to Outhouse"...

Things aren't quite as dire as the other poster makes them sound. The baseball coaches have a suite of offices in Jervey that used to be the AD's suite. Coach Leggett has a corner office that overlooks Doug Kingsmore. Michael Johnson, Bradley LeCroy, Dan Pepicelli, and Brad Owens each has his own office. There is a small office in the stadium, but it is NOT the main office. The field looks terrible because the rye grass has died out and the Bermuda has not filled in the bare spots yet. When I talked to Bob Mahony a couple of weeks ago, he said that if every season ticket holder would pledge on average 20 dollars a month for the next 5 years, Clemson would have more than enough money for what they want to build. Twenty bucks a month is a little over 1000 dollars over 5 years and with 3500 season ticket holders, that's over 3.5 million. Plus, IPTAY will match that figure, which makes the total over 7 million.

Show me where I used the "facilities excuse"...

In fact, I pointed out that they AREN'T as bad as the original post had made them sound. And, facilities matter. If they didn't, then schools wouldn't spend so much money on them. You really are pathetic.

you are proposing shelling out for my 4 season tickets $4000 more dollars. It is a crock of well you know to say give X more dollars for baseball the AD has the money if they want to spend it look at what they have done for football....please don't say I need to give more money to see a product that has been marginal the past 5 seasons.

the point was, and I guess you missed it, that if everybody did a little bit, Clemson could raise all the money it needed. Just because someone can't make a "major gift" of several thousand dollars doesn't mean that every gift doesn't help. Instead of waiting on "somebody else" to give $100,000 or so, why doesn't everybody do a little?

than on TigerNet. I don't need to pay for TigerNet when mostly all I would get for my money is a bunch of grief. I'm not going to spend money so I can be insulted.

you bring the insults on yourself.
And as you said "Is 15-20 dollars a month REALLY that much of an investment?"
You could donate to Tigernet for about 2 bucks a month. Is that REALLY that much of an investment?

Yes he is and why give my money to a program that is lead by a man who teaches poor fundamentals. If we had an elite coach then I would gladly open up my wallet.

baseballfan, you have just become a victim of the attack of the morons, who do nothing to contribute to the baseball team, nor do they know what they are talking about. I said nothing concerning the grass, but the fact that Jack wants the field leveled. We currently have two catch basins in the outfield which require a basin to drain and I gave an accurate description of the clubhuse office. Don't believe me, get Bob Mahony to give you a tour, which is how I got my information. I agree with you every season ticket holder should give a little. I know I did. Won't see my name on any donor lists, but I gave what I could. As for contributing to tnet, why should I provide a forum for immature and sometimes illiterate posters? Has anybody ever recieved a negative pulse? Can't wait to see.

Ordinarily I'd be supportive of our coaches

But when we see the same problems year after year and they are not fixed, combined with the rise of our sister school, I can't accept mediocrity.

that maybe part of the reason for the "rise" of South Carolina is their 30+ million dollar stadium? And what makes the Gamecocks Clemson's "sister school"? If Clemson has a "sister school" in this state it's Winthrop. Winthrop was the women's companion to all-male Clemson. Plus, Ben Tillman played a large part in the establishment of both schools, which is why Winthrop also has a Tillman Hall.

competitive. A reason of mediocrity for not giving blows my mind b/c that should be a reason of giving. There's lots of things that need to be done to help stay competitive.
A good, legitimate reason not to give would be more along the lines of not being able to afford to give anymore. That's very understandable these days!
