some high gravity nectar of the gods that tastes like heaven?
Just because you haven’t found the right big beer, don’t paint all of them with the same tarry brush.
But if you like formaldehyde and rice syrup, it’s your liver

Not all beer is created equal. But I have managed over 30 million in beer sales a year and have been there done that w great beers.
So I stand by the fact that I’d rather drink lighter beer.

I jumped the gun and equated high gravity with craft

As I get older and fatter, I tend to prefer something lighter too but I’m not going with any mass market beer. There are a lot of really good, crisp light beers that are superior to Coors, Miller, etc
I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know, just making my case for something like Dale’s Light, Bell’s Light Hearted, etc instead

Give me a light Pils that is craft and I’m down. The whole market now is all about how much alcohol they can pack into a 19.2 oz beer even if it tastes like shiat.

And I guess if I was honest, if the only thing in the cooler was a Coors light or an imperial mango triple stout I’d probably take the Coors

It seems like the high alcohol trend in craft beers has peaked, and

the trend is for 7% and less. Yes, there's still rilly big beers out there, but the trend is lower ABV. Heck, younger peeps don't even want to drink alcohol, unless it's some weenie un-beer.

They’re just started being too filling and less enjoyable to me. No clue what changed but I used to get excited about scoring a new beer I’d been looking for and I’ve just gone back to bourbon or gin now for the last couple years.

get Schlitz instead of PBR when I go to Tiger Town?
Also, if you pay for and drink Coors light then I'm not sure how well calibrated your taste buds are.*
*No, not all high gravity beer is good. Not all craft breweries make great beer.

Depends on the season. Cold weather like this I'm good drinking a 6 pack

of some high gravity IPAs. Like somebody else posted though the whole point of the high gravity was to counter act the high abv. Now it's 7% and will fill you up faster than Mackey's hawg. Include in whiskey and you got yourself a night
Summer time is time for a 30 rack of Nattys and Busch light. Then due to the heat you switch to something lighter like a Gin and tonic

This all depends on the occasion. On the beach or by the pool drinking all day

means light beer, preferably Pacifico, Modelo, Montucky Cold Snacks, or Miller Lite for me.
Having a single beer with dinner in the evening, that might be a nice Hazy IPA with high alcohol content. It's gonna cost $2 more than the Miller Lite and get you more of a buzz. 2 Millers might get you to the same place but you are fuller, spend more, and they don't taste as good.
