What ACC team will be the biggest

Surprise this year? Either by being better than expected or far worse?
I think one of the new teams will win more than expected. I dont see them winning the conference but I do see them making noise.

do better than expected. I think BC has a really good coach now and great recruiter and I expect them to surprise a few teams.

Maryland. CJ Brown is supposedly looking good.

Maryland may be more dangerous than people think. Who has 4 QBs knocked out during a season?

I think Maryland could be the surprise team in the Atlantic this year and finish 3rd. They had a pretty good defense last year and with any luck will be able to field a real QB next year.
I could see GT being the biggest disappointment finishing 4th in the Coastal. The talent level in Atlanta just keeps getting lower every year under PJ.

The Terps parting shot from the ACC will be better than anticipated if they can stay healthy. QB CJ Brown returns behind a somewhat experienced o-line (6 players seen starting action). WR/ATH Stefon Diggs is an exciting play maker at the WR position and in the return game. They also add JUCO Transfer, WR Deon Long who should compliment Diggs very well. What will hold Maryland back is their front 7 on defense who are for the most part, pretty untested.

that actually makes sense, but...

didn't Maryland have a pretty good defense last year? Did they lose a bunch of guys?
They will almost certainly improve from last year. The only place to go is up.

They had two solid ends in Joe Vellano (signed with Patriots) and AJ Francis (signed with Dolphins) both need to be replaced. Kilgo returns at DT other than that the front 7 will be pretty untested. All 4 DBs return.
on the flipside of Maryland, I think Virginia Tech may have a tough go of it this year. Opening with Alabama, playing at ECU (a team they seem to struggle with) atleast they avoid Clemson and Florida State from the Atlantic.

UNC and Miami are both going to be very good

and then both will embarass the conference by declining a bowl bid at the end of the year despite winning 10 games or more.

a lot of people are mentioning them as a team who could upset us, but they have a new coach, new QB, and I'm pretty sure they lost most of their OLine from last year. I can't imagine their offense being worth anything.
In addition to that, their secondary was senior-heavy last year, so any team with a solid WR corps (Clemson, FSU, even Wake) should shred them.
