Josh Pate's thoughts are mine as well. We don't want Dabo gone, we just want it fixed. He set the standard himself and we shouldn't compare ourselves to lesser programs that have done nothing. This is all just so disappointing and things need to change and the "Clemson Way" just isn't going to work long term, especially after what we've seen this year. And he reflected what I said on a post buried in the board as well. If it takes us losing for all these seniors and returning NFL talent to wake up, that's a big problem in itself.

We can most definitely do it the *Clemson Way*

But just like everyone else we need a great/elite QB to do it.

Last year the offense played well enough to advance to final 8. The defense wasn’t suited for the ride.

This year the defense has played well enough to be 3-0, but unfortunately the most important position on the field hasn’t played his part.

The QB has proven potential. Fix the QB to demonstrated performance, and we may very well be great. Certainly not saying 2018 great, where we demolished the supposed best team ever in a natty, but we can make a great run. It all starts at QB.

That’s not even true.
Look at what? The past 2-3 championship QBs.

Will Howard @ OSU is not an elite QB.

JJ McCarthy @ Michigan is not an elite QB.

Even Stetson Bennett at UGA the argument could be made he wasn’t an entire QB.

I would say there hasn’t been an elite QB to win it since LSU did with Burrow.

At this point there’s enough sample size to say yes. Dabo has to have a generational QB in order to get to the places he’s been before.

Why shouldn't we? He's always been high on Clemson and respectful towards us. Doesn't matter how he pronounces it. He gives good insight on football and off the field topics as well.

yet lack of pronunciation after this many years, I refuse to give any credit to this guy. He's another espn esque, bombastic, loud mouth, over opinionated doouch that wants clicks and reactions.

This sport has really devolved in traditionalist views and old school fun of the sport, and this guy is the poster boy example. This professionalism and money have ruined the experience all the way around.

I can only surmise the younger generation will just comply with how it is, and watch further evolution to change the sport we love to love. Kinda sad IMO.

Some ppl just don’t wanna admit it. Pate has always been fair; doesn’t mean you have to like everything he says. What he said about the standard is 100% correct. Throughout that piece he gives Clemson much much credit…as well as CDS. Don’t be fooled, Dabo wants to regain what we all want….he just hasn’t figured out the “new” puzzle. Whether he will is anyone’s guess.

He’s exactly right about recruiting too.
Its much more than Cade. Many groups underperforming. Puzzling indeed when this was supposed to be THE year.

Eric MacLain sees it too… go watch his video on the Georgia Tech game. The mistakes being made by veteran players and groups is oddly puzzling. And don’t go look at any national stats. It’s not pretty.

Here’s to CDS finding the solution before we play SYR. Press conferences like today don’t gain you much consideration from the fan base if things don’t turn around soon. As BV says: “less is more.” The answers are not in the Clemson fandom….they are internal. Control what you can control.

I think we can all agree Dabo was a tad defensive.

Pate focused on Dabo’s “whats so bad” comments, by saying nobody is saying we are bad, like Dabo was overreacting. Pate used that as a take offs, but the fact is there are people who are saying that. They’ve written off the season as a failure, indeed saying we are bad. That’s who Dabo was talking to.

Pate’s whole video is acting like the seasons over. Like the results are in, and we aren’t great. Dabo alluded to that in his press conference, “yet to be determined”, but Pate skipped that in his assessment. At no point in Pate’s comments did he seem to realize he’s making comments like all the results are in.

Pate then got on Dabo for taking about the “if they want me gone” stuff, by saying nobody wants him gone. He used that for one of his arguments. But again, Pate doesn’t seem to have a grasp of reality. Albeit it’s not many, but there absolutely people who want him gone. So that was another missed point.

He made a couple valid points, and Dabo was a little defensive today, but Pate missed on several things as well.

Fact is, no we’re not 2018 great by any stretch, but that was literally one of the best seasons in college football history. But at the same time, if the QB plays just a little bit better then we are likely 3-0. Cade needs to play better.

And no, it’s not the portal. Other than needing the QB to play better, there isn’t a single position where a portal player would have made us 3-0. Did we make some mistakes, sure, but if the QB plays better we are 3-0.

plays where guys screw up. Do that detailed level of analysis of any team, basically any game.

Like everyone we have some things to iron out. Those things are very important and we absolutely need to improve. But the point is, fix the QB and we aren’t left with analyzing every minutia of every play.

Why not? Because both the monkey's and the media types' sh*t do stink!

People like that Pate character never cease to seize an opportunity to pile on with their so-called "expertise," because that's how they make a living. Those who give them any credulence whatsoever are falling for their traps, which, of course, are the clicks.

Therefore, I've found the best posture (at least for myself) is that of waiting for and watching each game, one at a time, then formulating my opinions based on results on the gridiron. Furthermore, although I expect wins, I know there will be losses, some even unexpectedly. And if at some time the powers-that-be at Clemson decide it's time for a change in leadership, then so be it.

How do some y'all disagree with him because of his pronunciation of Clemson? Really? He isnt stating any facts? Some of y'all will never believe Dabo is failing even if we went 1- 11. Take off the orange colored glasses for a moment and live in reality.

The program isnt what it once was in the teens. The talent has dropped off in part due to nil, transfer portal, and lack of development. Dabo doesn't know when to give another guy a chance at a position when the current guy isnt getting the job done. Or we don't have a quality guy behind said player, which proves the lack of talent on the team.
