Kind of funny that a lot of folks were saying that exact thing about Cade’s playing time in other games. I do agree there was a lot more evidence to point to DJ staying down when he got down and I was as excited to see Cade throwing in front of the bench during NC’s second offensive series as anyone - heck I was the first one in our section to see it and started pointing it out to everyone around us, but it’s just funny how the same thing can be said by one group and it’s ok and someone else says it they’re so wrong.

was DJ going to magically turn it around Saturday night? Did you notice how they immediately went to the hurry up with Cade? Didn't do that the first 2 series with DJ. That's telling as well.

DJ was given every conceivable opportunity to succeed at Clemson and he just didn't get it done; certainly not on a consistent basis. No hard feelings and best of luck, but it time for everyone to move on.

…the Tigers 14-0, and an IMMEDIATE sense of desperation on the part of the Tigers, and “blood in the water” on the Tarheel side.
Every additional snap would have bled another pint of Cade-blood from Dabo & Streeter’s veins, becoming less and less willing to put Cade into the game, unwilling to commit the entire enormity of pulling out a win on Cade.
The switch was decisive and swift and was the ONLY move that could be made at that moment.
The KB2/TL16 switch occurred over a post-game review. This was a split-second decision to save the game.
While their is still debate about exactly WHEN Dabo and Streeter were planning on bringing in Cade (they said 3rd or 4th series, who knows), I give CDS & BS credit for recognizing that the game was essentially going to be won or lost on that next Clemson possession.

DJ's role was as a place holder until Cade matured. He really did a good job for someone who is slow of foot and can't focus.

Coupled with DJs play over the past several games culminating in a 28% completion percentage at home against SC, then watch Cade set an ACCCG completion percentage record, and question if the coaches were fair to pull the trigger “that soon.”

CDS made the comment that those six plays were EASY to complete. So basically the plays were basic for DJ to complete and gain confidence. Dabo stuck by DJ like no other coach would. Once DJ missed on those six plays, Dabo pulled the plug.

Deptula also said that we didn’t want Dabo as our head coach back when Dabo took the job. He also said Paul Johnson would win a national championship at Georgia Tech…among other ridiculous statements. He’s an idiot and I have no idea why he’s still on the air after all these years
