No I get that. I think ND is in 100% no matter what at this point. But why play ND twice in a row. No one wants to see that. And I doubt the players do either. So when CU beats ND and Bama beats Florida the only logical ranking would be Bama CU ND OSU. There’s no way logically to put OSU over ND.

I agree with what you're saying logically, but I very much believe in that scenario, OSU would be 3 and ND would be 4 purely to avoid back to back games.

3rd Clemson / Notre Dame game would only happen as a National Championship Game.

If Clemson really throttles ND, and then Florida beats Bama, I could see ND getting left out.

Oh, I think it's a definite that ND would get left out. Everyone would say we were severely limited 1st game and therefore make the justification that ND most likely would have had 2 losses. Then the failsafe fallback, conference champions.
Fla hasn't got a defense that would allow them to beat Bama other than a somewhat close game... 3-7 points. So, then the excuse would be Bama had a much tougher overall schedule than ND.

I can almost guarantee you the committee would love it to fall this way.

is for Clemson and Florida to both win in close games leaving the CFP committee with little option but to put Clemson, Florida, Bama and Notre Dame in the top four and leave OcryO State on the outside looking in.
