Not much of explanation. Simply guessing and assumptions. I don’t mind that Clemson is keeping things close to the vest but at the very least they should let Tiger nation know whether or not they are in sync with FSU.

No they shouldn't. And David isn't the only reputable writer covering Clemson that has stated similar.

Doesn't say much. D-Hood says FSU folks have said they have talked with Clemson folks - but that doesn't mean they are speaking the same language, going the same path, and/or that FSU isn't also speaking with others. Clemson is "aligned" and "informed" ... about what? With whom? For all we know, FSU is as eager as ever to get out of the conference that they've only been a member of for 30 years, and will do whatever it takes including private equity and breaking contracts. Clemson, a founding ACC member, may decide to go about the "legal process" in a more civil manner so as not to ruffle the feathers of longtime friends (see: UNC's AD yesterday).
Clemson needs to come out and make a statement one way or another. Just let the people know where you stand.

There’s safety in numbers if we ever want to dissolve ACC

We along with FSU, UNC, VA, VTech, NC State, Louisville and Miami need to call an emergency meeting and get it over with ASAP so we can play this season out without that distraction and let the landing spots be figured out throughout the season.

My take, IF either FSU or Clemson or perhaps both do not formally notify ACC of their intention to leave the conference by the looming August 15 annual notification deadline they must realize the GoR is binding and unbreakable. Otherwise they must wait another year to formally begin their withdrawal and you can infer the aggressive due diligence and negotiations that we know have been ongoing are reaching a dead end. Talk, without legal supporting actions, shows weakness. The SEC covets both schools but cannot initiate any invitation without first knowing publicly the schools are legally available.
