We have Clemson fans thinking that a high schooler just into his senior season (Trevor Lawrence) who has not even sniffed a college football practice squad is going to unseat the 3rd year QB of the #2 team in the nation (Kelly Bryant) who has better stats at this point in the season than the best player in Clemson history (Deshaun Watson).
Just think about that over and over before you continue to repeat it.
Also, keep in mind where Hunter Johnson, Zerrick Cooper, and Chase Brice were ranked as seniors in high school and exactly where they are on the depth chart right now.
Silly fans.

I could name so many players' film that jumped off the screen in high school that eventually went and did nothing in college.

Too deep....is a real problem at Clemson now...it sure feels good to have all these problems that used to be reserved for Alabama, USC, Auburn, FSU, and Ohio State. Real talent is now wanting to play at Clemson for Dabo, the best College coach since Bear Bryant!!!

What is difference between Watson, Stoudt of 2014 and Lawrence, Bryant of 2018? Both TL and DW will have enrolled in December prior to those seasons.
I'm not saying it should or will happen, but why do you think it cannot happen?... WGAS about high school rankings for any of the kids when it comes down to these decisions? Coaches have repeatedly stated they base the starting/playing time decisions on who practices best during the week and then plays best in games. If TL is practicing/playing better than KB, ZC, HJ, and CB, guess what?...

is on the line at the start of fall practice?.. they're not blowing smoke.
Who knows what will happen with TL and when he sees the field, but you are WRONG to think he will redshirt just because of his age, the other QB kids on the roster that are older, and how many stars they all had in high school. If he's one of the 3 best in practice next summer/fall, he will see the field in 2018.

So you think dabo will just bench Kelly Bryant after having a very successful season, possibly leading us to an acc title and a playoff berth? Because the way things are going and the way he's playing, that seems very likely. What kind of message do you think that would send to recruits? Who would want to play for a coach that benches a player that's clearly earned the job by his play on the field for an entire season for a true freshman that hasn't earned it yet?
It doesn't matter how good he is supposed to be, KB will start next year, for the whole year, if he continues to play the way he has. So yes, you are CRAZY to think that.

Nobody wanted to give Kelly a chance prior to the season. This has reinforced how solid our staff is at player evaluation. It's a long season but it is hard to argue that any of the other QB's would have been more effective than KB. The coaches will likewise put the right player on the field next season.

KB will start next season unless he hits a serious slump. However, I expect TL to be #2 and will see some playing time. Good problem to have.
