Hearing so much rave about Will Taylor.

Is this, he’s awesome for what he is, type of talk or is this, he’s awesome and can push DJ for starter, talk? The way he has been portrayed in the media lately would tell me he’s getting a good look. I’m assuming he’s battling for the #2 spot with Taisun. And DJ is just on another level.

I hope he is pushing DJ, but I don’t know that he has the ceiling to take his spot. It’s exciting to hear nonetheless!!!

My read is that he is an exciting football player for the future. The keys - football player and future. He might be an interesting stop gap QB down the road, if we end up with another KB2 type season where you’re waiting on that next true QB1 to roll in. Or he might develop into a renfrow like baller. Just an athlete that can make something happen.
That’s my read. I could be way off. But it feels like a guy that has potential down the road to make an impact as a football player. Maybe it’ll be returning punts, or catching passes, or filling in at QB. Seems like a multi-tool that’s under construction.

Thanks, David, for your insight.
The last I heard from Dabo on Taylor was he had nothng to say but glowing things about his athleticism, work ethic, coachability, and versatlity. He also said, paraphrased, "He's working at QB this year, but we expect him to change positions in the future." He also went on to say, "We expect to see him returning punts this year" and he talked about how explosive he could be in that role.
Sounds to me like Dabo is not thinking of him as a QB of the future, but is thinking of him as a playmaker of the future.

This what I keep reading as well. He’s an athlete, exciting with the ball and they want to get him out there but necessarily as a QB.

He'll most likely end up making much more of an impact in baseball. He loves all sports. Whatever is in season. The man's a winner as is his family. I say man because he's wise beyond his years.
QB wise, probably more comparable to Chase Brice but with more ceiling. Athletic ability and just knows how to win. We get TP back and healthy, you'll see him workout more on his WR skills where he can definitely blossom into a Hunter.
But he's destined for the majors, even if it's after Monte. I say that because he has one of the prettiest natural swings I've seen in a while.
Btw - Ty's a heck of a QB too.

Last year out of all the QBs in country DJ was rated in The top two by every service. There was no red flags as he had been thoroughly vetted in all areas. A good triple option QB would not stand a chance of starting ahead of him. Note good is not great and both are < legendary

That can push DJ. Pretty clear that Taylor is 4th if you read the reports. Had difficulty throwing the ball in the scrimmage. He is an emergency guy way down the list and only other reason he might be considered is a wildcat/special circumstance situation. He will move to another position as soon as we get past the need of having him be an emergency qb. I guy breaking off a couple of runs in a practice doesn’t constitute being a high level qb.

Until we get a viable option behind DJU - the running QB may indeed be W. Taylor! He is a gamer it seems. Swag and having that "it factor"! Think Hunter Renfrow!
Only reason he wasn't a big time recruit was his height! He also doubles as a baseball player(in fact, I think he is an even better baseball player).
I could see them using him some later in the season to see how he handles the spotlight in some situations where we want to run the QB.
