Heard an analysts describe Bama as George Foreman getting ready to meet Ali in the jungle...

Jan 3, 2016, 10:08 AM

Perhaps in a rumble.

Bama (the machine/current heavyweight champ) vs. Ali (former champ, more heart, courage, resiliency; unconventional, confident, capable)

If you don't know already, Ali knocked Foreman out in the 8th round for the Heavyweight Title in 1974.

Back then when George was more into being like Sonny Liston

Jan 3, 2016, 10:18 AM

he wore himself out throwing wide loopy punches. Ali taunted George saying "Is that all you got?" and big bad George went down like a chopped down tree when he was shot! Clemson's gotta Rope a Dope Bama, get those guys running till they drop then knock them out in the end.

LOL Years later when George came back as big "Friendly " George he had wised up and threw short straight punches but lets hope Bama is dumb like younger George.

and took a worse beating a year later in Manila from Frasier. Ali wanted to quit half way through and even in winning in 14 Ali said that fight with Joe was like death he was so beat up. His physician told manager Angelo Dundee that Ali was done and should retire right then.

Unbelievable Ali endured 14 rounds of punishment to win in Manilla

Very acurately described, as one of the greatest sporting events in history

Yes physically he did

But Foreman was never close to winning that fight. His punches were wild and his footwork a mess. Ali completely bamboozled him.

True story.

Either way.... strategy, guts and heart prevailed in the end.
