This is a true story…
A buddy and I saw Todd Ellis and Rodney Williams eating together at Leo’s Wings in Irmo back in the late 80s. My buddy, who was a coot fan, said, “Don’t ask Rodney to pass you the salt… he’ll throw it over your head.” I then said, “Don’t ask Todd to pass you the salt… he’ll throw it to someone else.” We had a good laugh with them over that.

As you know, I spent 47 years in the broadcast media business, and have met with him on multiple occasions, both professionally and personally. He’s the biggest South Carolina homer there is, but he’s also one of the kindest people you’ll meet.
