I gotta say I like our chances! What a huge get that would be, hopefully he commits early as possible to help with recruiting others. DJ would come in and for Trevor last season, then compete with CB, Phommacahn and DJ for starting position. I would think a RS SR Brice will be hard to beat out unless he transferred because he See's how good DJ is as a Sophomore. Either way the future is bright!

IF this kid comes in, there is no chance on gods green earth that he sits until he is a junior. The way I see it he sits behind Trevor 1 season and then would win the position battle that spring.

Our president is the best thing that has happened at Clemson in a long time! Like the rest of us he’s all in.And, he never says negative things about the Tigers! Never

I know from people in the admission office that they saw a 20-25% increase in applications the year after we won the Natty.
More demand=less supply=more bridge=more money=growth=easier to ask donors for more....and so on, and so on, etc

he was not that impressive

In his last game against Mater Dei. They shut him completely down after the first series. He is a kid with a very strong arm and will develop into a big time quarterback with the right coaching. He’s not there yet. Playing with the receivers that Clemson has would really help him too. I think he becomes a Tiger.

Then we are a perfect fit. He will have time to grow and wait his turn for a year or whatever and grow. A far as being shutdown by Mater Dei. Mater Dei probably had way more talent at every position than his team had. Mater Dei poaches all of the talent from all over the California and even other states. It reminds me of IMG in that way. I grew up close to Mater Dei and they took our QB who went on to set a Rose Bowl record for passing yards.

I believe in an earlier meeting this year Mater Dei was blown out by this same team. In the finals that I watched Friday night, the St Johns team was soundly beaten. For some reason the Braves decided to run the ball rather than let the star QB do his thing . It didn’t work! Did you watch that game?

DJ completed 15 out of 21 attempts against Mater Dei with 5 TDs in the Monarch's only loss of the season. That's hardly shutting him down.
Google is your friend and no need for guess work. MaxPreps is an excellent site, but I also saw the game. No shut down, this kid is legit.

I personally watched both of those games and I am fully aware of the results of the first game. I believe that I said he was not impressive in the last game. It was played this past Friday night. If you think throwing three (3) interceptions and completing one (1) touchdown is great then we look at greatness in a different way.

the right coaching staff

Will turn this guy into an nfl player. His receivers are good high school players but with a group like Higgins, Ross etc he could be fabulous. He runs well too and is a big, tough kid. The pass-run option is something he will need help with but he is athletic! Bright future. Saturday he wasn’t the number one player but he has it!
