Cades quick release is his biggest weapon

And the reason our screen passes worked for the first time in forever Saturday night. This video was posted in a thread earlier, but just watch the break down. This is why a lot of us who have researched Cade know he’s the absolute real deal. Several times in this break down he’s going to get lit up but doesn’t even flinch flicks the ball out and takes the hit. Most of DJs problems are between the ears but another is he winds up the throw like he’s pitching a baseball which is fine in HS but that extra half second changes everything at College/NFL level. As far as accuracy, release, and awareness Cade is as polished a QB we’ve ever gotten maybe only second to TL. Also expect to get back to big time pass plays due to Cades ability to put the deep pass in the bread basket consistently without fear. With the speed of Turner and Williams this offense is going to be scary at EVERY level of the field. If you haven’t gotten the chance actually research Cade, there’s a reason why he’s our first QB to win the Elite 11.

I took pictures of him praying in the end zone every game and would stop recording when DJ got down to the endzone
Go Tigers! I hope ya'll realize what we missed out on (another TL16 freshmen season).. TCU and Michigan replaced us and Alabama. what a joke.
rant over.

I noticed he was looking off the defenders before that quick release. Something DJ had major problems with. Cade knew where his receivers were without staring them down. Watching the offense was fun again. The kid has the potential to surpass DW and TL. Hope we can surround him with top recruits the next few years.

He has one of the highest ceilings I’ve seen in a long time because he has every skill at his disposal, and pairs it with a winners attitude.

That’s also really impressive for his age, the games I got to watch when he was in HS there were several TD passes that were his 2nd/3rd read which is rare for a young QB.

I love Cade. He is and will be fantastic. He will not "surpass" TL. TL was the #1 player taken in the draft. That cannot be surpassed. TL throws 66 MPH. That will not be surpassed. He is also 6"5 and 3/4". Cade is not. TL is a generational player. He will eventually be mentioned along with Namath, Elway, Favre, etc. as far as arm talent. Most haven't comprehended what just passed through. He's struggling at times with the Jags but at other times makes throws that leaves the announcers speechless. Barring injury, he will fulfill his potential and become one of the all time greats. Hope Cade can get in the same ballpark although his supporting cast is likely to be similar to TL's in his final year which had tailed off from his freshman year.

Agree with you on the physical attributes, Cade will never have as good an arm as TLaw. However Cade loves the game more than any other QB we have had at Clemson in a looooong time. Even Trevor at times seemed like he was bored or just going through the motions. Idk what the future holds for the kid but I know Cade Klubnik will be playing football for another 12+ years and most of that will be as a starter imo.

How good will he get now that he will get meaningful reps with the 1st team...he only got 30% last week and those were the first since fall camp...Dabo said he was not ready and how wouldyou know without 1st team reps...did Dabo not want Cade to succeed when DJ croaked!.and just like magic he was ready, as Gomer used to say surprise, surprise, surprise. Well at least we know he is ready!

A QB quick release is one of the most important qualities for a god QB. Cade has it, DJ does not.

I think he will be great. Whatever the past, this is his team now, and maybe the wait made him appreciate it more without causing all of the confidence issues DJ faced from being under TL's massive shadow. Pulling for him!

Agreed. Look at how the game is played now. The successful quarterbacks are able to move out of the pocket buying 2-4 seconds more for the receivers to get open. They can throw on the run or take off and get first downs. You have to be a playmaker at the QB position. Yes I know that Tom Brady doesn't leave the pocket but he's the exception.

Cade had that quick release winning most drill competitions against the best of the best at Elite 11 Finals. Then he lost it all through the season until 3 days before the ACCCG. Glad he got it back! ??

Not only does he have a quick release, he has quick feet and is decisive with his decision.

It's not his biggest weapon

but a quick release is indeed important.
More important than a quick release is Cade's form is the same for every throw. One of the things about DJ that really bothered me was he often threw the ball with different arm angles for no apparent reason. He release wasn't mechanical enough, if you know what I mean, as if he hasn't been taught well how to throw.
DJ's very inconsistent release point killed his accuracy. Cade's identical release slot makes it easy to why he's so accurate.
I'm going to pay close attention to his footwork against in the Orange Bowl. This is another area where DJ was a train wreck much of the time.
For you golfers out there, think of passing the ball as similar to a golf swing. DJ's like a recreational golfer who tries to murder the ball while Cade (with his equivalent of a slotted swing) knows striking the ball well is more important than clubhead speed.

That another area he’s really ahead in his footwork is as smooth as they come, what sets him apart is how light he is on his feet. If you pay attention before he plants he’s bouncing on his feet almost like a boxer, the kid is an absolute athlete in every sense of the word. That’s what I think is going to set him apart, really excited to watch him progress even further.

Some day soon he may make us say DW or TL who? They both struggled their first year, never won elite 11 etc.. CK just needs the weight room, a little more mass and about 1 /3 of the moral support that was given to DJ and we will have found the game again! Clemson fans deserve it after this experiment!
