Which is a huge upgrade from the last 4 years. We should still bring in a portal QB to compete with Denson and Tait. I like the future of the QB room though.
With the WR we have on the roster and the ones we are bringing in, teams are built just like the KB team. Venables took 3 years to get rolling, as long as we keep recruiting on the defensive side like we have been we will be rolling like the good old times in the next year or 2.

CV has no wheels unless I’m misunderstanding your comparison.
What will keep us from building is others using the portal to address needs instantly while we try to develop youngsters via poor coaches.

I think he’s comparing CV’s upside potential as a winning QB to be similar to KB’s potential as a winning QB.
I am sure that he was not comparing / contrasting physical attributes between the two.

I don't see it. I don't see the correlation. KB was a running QB that was an inaccurate passer with a limited knowledge of the playbook. CV is a pocket passer who can run every play in the book who is an unathletic runner.

it’s one game against the 2nd worst pass defense in all of FBS, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’ve seen him struggle in other playing time before yesterday, I’m more inclined to believe that’s the real CV vs the guy we saw playing against an FCS quality defense yesterday

CV’s struggles in Q1 were, in hindsight, reflective of his lack of extensive in-game playing experience.
‘Extensive in-game playing experience’ is not the sum total of a few garbage time snaps accumulated over numerous blow-out games from the previous two seasons + Troy / UNC / BC games.
Notice how the CV of Q1 yesterday was ~ as the CV of sun-total of garbage time PT.
Notice how, with one quarter of being whacked around and throwing passes in meaningful game action, Vizz became somewhat comfortable and subsequently became respectable in his play throughout the rest of the game. As noted frequently, Vizz did not have great support from the OL.
There was also the dropped TD pass by Wesco; think about this and the implication for the entire 4th Qtr if Wesco had caught that ball.
Sure, SMU had a lousy defensive backfield. But SMU was able to pressure him, and he did better under pressure than what we typically saw from CK2.

It’s pretty easy to look good when you’ve got multiple WR running free because they’re playing a terrible secondary.
The season is toast, Dabo should start CV for the next game or two to give him more reps. But if he does I think we’ll see he’s not the guy for next season
