UCS, is that we may no longer be able to make fun of Spurrier's lack of discipline on his players.

i'm not 100% sure of that, i've never considered tanner a strict disciplinarian, but that's just my point of view of the usuc baseball program.

back on the team for burglary and grand larceny. Are you joking, or just in your normal mode of denial?
Fuller was also charged in the theft of three desktop computers, valued at $4,500. Those computers were from the USC Academic Enrichment Center. Police say Fuller also took $3,100 in cash from the USC Baseball coaches' office. Fuller was charged with a total of three counts of burglary and three counts of grand larceny.

and one is a major leaguer.
Tanner could have brought either back after a year or so in junior college had he wanted.
He didnt. He did have a choice.
It might not have been a wise choice- but he did have it to make.

I don't want to sound too much like York Tiger, but Tanner becoming the new AD is a done deal. Holbrook will be HC.

I'm not really that happy about it. Losing the best coach in the country in any sport is never an upgrade. But it is what it is.

1 more national title than Cal - and 1 less than Saban.
But Tanner's are back to back.
So I think an argument can be made either way - and doesn't make one delusional.

you need to explain why a national title to Jack Leggett isn't as big a deal because it's baseball - and not football.
He's laugh in your face.

explain to Jack Leggett why him getting a national title isn't as special or as big of an accomplishment as Dabo getting a football title.

true. but football players have to play college ball, basketball has the one and done's, but in baseball the best players go straight to the pro's, so the point you are trying to make is wrong based on the fact that you don't know who is signing mlb contracts, or going to school. all it takes is a couple key players to decide to go to school and the coach just got a huge leg up on the competition, it isn't all about being the best (x and o) coach.

when you don't know who is going to show- and who isn't.
Football coaches know who is going to be there. Baseball coaches don't.

baseball right now? He's only taken his program to back 2 back national titles the past 3 seasons, and to 3 consecutive championship series in Omaha.....and set all-time postseason and CWS win streaks along the way.
He said "Losing the best coach in the country in any sport is never an upgrade"...and college baseball IS included in the "any sport" part. A VERY strong argument can be made that Tanner is the best coach in the country in college baseball, and THEREFORE, losing the best coach in the country in any sport - such as Ray Tanner in college baseball - is never an upgrade.
And that's not a delusional statement to make at all....

Can his psyche survive being subordinate to a "baseball coach"?
I see friction here.

I tend to agree that IMO Tanner is a upstanding guy. However football is and will always be king.
