Clemson deserves better.
Clemson should expect better.
Clemson should fire him immediately.
I sent a letter to Clemson’s President.
He needs to do the right thing and remove Villaver from Clemson’s world.

I went to X and found both "Melvin Earl Vallaver Jr. PhD, Assistant Professor of Audio Technology and Global Black Studies" and his posts rejoicing in the death of Charlie Kirk.
I agree that he should be fired from the University immediately.
I will send a message to the Office of The President today, demanding his firing.
Clemson is my alma mater and I cannot stand for someone like this teaching our future generation.

You should realize that professional employees are afforded due process that non-professional employees don’t enjoy. They can’t be summarily dismissed like the janitor at Walmart could be. There is a process that must be followed, but I’m confident that in the end, these folks will be gone. Right now the school is following legal counsel to avoid a lawsuit.

Anyone that takes any kind of joy in the has no soul and a dark heart. There have been politicians, and other people, who I disagreed with vehemently, yet still had the greatest respect for them as a person .....i.e. Jimmy Carter. There is no room for this kind of hatred and vitriol ..... none. I would hope Clemson takes some sort of action to remove anyone who rejoices in another person's death.

IMO - while I value your opinion and certainly you are entitled to it. My thought is that NOT firing him sends a message . The rhetoric from the left about wanting to take Trump out. To call conservatives “evil” compare them to Hitler, vilify Israel for defending themselves, and we could go on and on with many many examples (not totally owned by the left - but clearly 2 attempts at Trump and now Kirk - this rhetoric has empowered the crazies - and they know it. To NOT address it- is condoning it. It gives the crazies a reason to act out. Difference of ideas is not hate speech. Hate speech is hate speech. One can simply disagree with someone’s position, but not hate the person. People such as this Clemson Professor has a captive audience and can exude a great deal of influence over young people - using Clemson’s name and platform.
I hear you, but words and actions have meaning and while the first amendment allows him to say it - it. Does not mean there are not consequences.

Clemson deserves and should demand better. Believe what you want. Say what you want. But when you're an employee of a university, you are, by default, a representative of that university. And Clemson University should make it clear that they will have NOTHING to do with this kind of speech, callousness and immaturity.

I agree. That is exactly why I made the original post. I sent a email to Dr Clements and have since followed up with another.
Clements needs to stand up and say without any apologies - that Clemson does not condone and support this type of hate.
This so called professor- has students who can be forced to support his agenda. He exerts great power over these students and Clemson should not allow this type of professor to represent Clemson.
There are certain fights worth fighting. Even though I know the hate group defending his right to do this hate speech will argue against it. But , Clements needs to do what is right.
There is no other choice.

This professor should be fired immediately. I find it sadly ironic that they say they are for open depate and exchange of idea, yet they praise the killing of a person who's sole purpose was open debate and echange of ideas. Sadly even a college professor who should understand the idea of finding the truth didn't bother to do so before making his Vile comments.
We parents should take this as a worning sign to learn and know who is influencing our children and how.
IMO. The real reason Kirk was hated so much, especially in acedemia is because he was taking the influential power over our youth away from the left.
