I certainly hope you are right. I just can't figure out why this Offense has been so unproductive. That's been a shocker to me. Also, I really thought Luke would have a great OL by now, but that hasn't happened yet either. Come on guys! Let's get this thing fixed, please.

But Every year we’re stumbling out of the gate & always having to close strong. Just clean out the OFFENSIVE Staff except Luke, this program needs a jolt . Remember we’re NOT in the SEC , it’s the ACC .With outstanding success DABO comes very high expectations….& you ain’t delivering anymore.

Tnet during football season reminds me of high school 45 years ago. My high school wrestling team would play something we called wrestle ball three or four times a season. It was a combination of wrestling and basketball, first side with 10 points wins and anything goes with cheap shots and smack talk.
Up to half of the twenty-something players would get really mouthy with their repetitive insults and occasionally tempers would flare and some of us including coach would have to kind of break it up and restore some reason. It was usually the spoiled entitled kids that did the most trash talking and got the most angry.
That's Tnet during football season and this article reminds me of that.

The same folks who bash Dabo at every turn for his faith and aw shucks attitude and reluctant stance on NIL and the portal are the same ones who call the fans spoiled for wanting improvements and change.
Can't stand ESPN.
Also they'll tout out the records and accomplishments now, but when we're rolling it never really matters because we're in the ACC.

Spoiled or right? Because even the mild negativity on here is still right, some may go alil extreme. But saying the obvious with what's wrong with the team, especially the offense is not a case of being spoiled.

Go look at the stats if ppl want to keep saying it’s a play or two away. The offensive and defensive stats are stunningly bad for a team this veteran.

Because they do have talent in spots. They just don't have it across the board. The talent that is here can give you a shot to win, but the problem is if they can't put the game out of reach, the margin of error narrows significantly.

spence era of offense being here again because we won a couple of titles. i remember when bowden was fired same espn said we were dumb because clemson could never be a challenger for titles. the fact is we have seen clemsons offenses be explosive and we want to see it again. nothing at all spoiled about criticizing the coach who has done nothing to fix it.

He got a decent amount of talent to go 40 and 14. That's one of the better records in college football over that time span. To be honest with you, we're not going to get Elite Talent on the consistent basis. We can get it at times, but we're not going to have 10 or 20 year runs where we're constantly getting Elite talent.

Exactly! The qb,we and o line need to be better. No TL or de behind center these days! DL play needs to be better and back seven for sure. So Dabo and his staff need to coach them up! Or get more players.

Unsure who Jordan Rodgers from Vandy is ...

But Colin Cowherd had a good take today. He compared Coach Swinney to Coach K who said back in the day he wasn't going to go down the "1 and done" path. When North Carolina and other programs did, then Coach K was forced to embrace it or steadily come up short. He embraced it and won another natl championship.
Cowherd said he liked Dabo, and Dabo was a great coach who has made a conscious decision to not keep up with changing times by not embracing portal transfers -- not the 5 stars but the solid back up tackles and DB's who would rather start for Indiana, Purdue or Clemson than backup for Bama, UGA or Ohio State.
Cowherd's take is that Clemson will have a fair number of players that will be drafted early in this year's draft, and many will wonder how Clemson can lose to a team with less talented personnel like Ga Tech. Cowherd's answer is Clemson has no solid depth to compete over a 15-game season like the Ohio State's of the world.
After the all-time great years when Travis Etienne was awarded the ACC MVP in both his soph year (2018) and junior year (2019) and championships were won, Clemson Football, especially its O-Line and recruiting, has continued to devolve each year. Others on Cowherd's show minimized Dabo's statement that he had won 8 of 10 ACC championships by stating the ACC championship is a ticket to the dance but cannot be compared to SEC and B1G championships.

Wow, Dabo must’ve slipped him some money to come to his defense. It’s not spoiled. It’s called having high expectations. And we don’t have high expectations once every 10 years we have high expectations every year because we pump millions into this program, we pay millions for a head coach and look at we’ve seen for the last five years. I guess best is standard just once in a while? Most of our issues deal with lack of talent, poor play design, and even coaching. Injuries makes it a different case, but we don’t have that many injuries that should make that big of a difference.

every team in history. You can tell we're not a very experienced fanbase when it comes to maintaining a winning football program. Ebbs and flows are normal. We are ebbing currently.
At the same time its easy to see that we are a bit stagnate as a football team. Honestly I like who DAbo is when he's backed into a corner. He's a "prove you wrong" type of personality. Being pushed is healthy and is good for him from time to time. I trust he'll get it right better than alot of 50/50 coaches out there that we would end up hiring as a replacement.
Alot goes on when you hire a new coach. You start over. Gotta reestablish your recruiting footprint instate and out of state, your brand usually takes a hit, your perception takes a hit. Your win totals subsequently take a hit. And its an uphill grind to re-establish yourself. Usually that first guy nose dives and sometimes takes a couple of hires to get the right guy. Alot on TNET think its a plug and play like their playstation.
Best case study is Tennessee. Fulmer was fired in 2008, a year removed from a 10 win season and a long run of elite status teams. Its 2025 and they have yet to reestablish themselves in that elite handful of teams while being in the prestigious SEC. 17 years and they're just now getting back into the picture of beign a top 15 type.
Ya'll really want that nose dive? I'm willing to ride it out with the one that brought us to the dance.

He doesn’t get it bc he’s not a fan. He doesn’t watch every play or every minute of every game like we do.
He takes a look from above and then forms an opinion. It’s just like us… we don’t know Ohio St inside and out bc we don’t watch them every minute of every week. We take the view from above and form our opinion.
So my take is… maybe he needs to shut his mouth about something he doesn’t know the full story with.
This is not one off year where we had a bad start. This is a 5 years and running problem. Honestly it’s went on longer than that… TLaw and Travis Etienne were just that good that they covered it up.
I promise you… had we looked even close… literally just in the ball park to what we once looked like… very few on here would truly be rumbling. But that’s not the case.
How long are we supposed to wait before we start voicing concerns? How long do we have to keep seeing the same problems week after week and year after year until we can voice concerns?

And as I said… if we were just in the ballpark with how we look… there would be no rumblings.
Quit making it out like people like me are saying we’re supposed to win 70-7 every week or it’s a failure bc that’s not what we’re saying.
Wins and losses aside… just look at how we look on the field… offense and defense…
We look nothing and I mean NOTHING like we used to. Everything is hard for this offense and I mean everything.
The defense is playing bend don’t break instead of dictating to opponents the way we used to.
It’s a night and day difference.

ESPN analyst. Exactly. You are 100% correct. Clemson fans, not all btw, expect to go to a national championship title game every year. Clemson is in the ACC. The ACC has grown, and is getting stronger as a conference in football, but the main conference for football power and reputation getting to playoffs is the SEC. Second would be the Big 12 I would think. Even with NIL and transfer portals, the stronger reputation football conferences still tend to get the better players from the nations high schools and transfer portals. The NFL draft chances for talent in college is why. Clemson is not in the SEC or Big 12, so getting to the title game is going to be harder. Dabo Sweeney has a great record trying to get Clemson to the national spotlight. It is what it is.

Totally disagree with this assessment. First are the trends. Nine wins for a program used to losing is something to celebrate. Not just for a season but it gives hope the program is turning around. This is not happening at Clemson. Second is the level of competition you're beating and losing to. Five straight loses to SEC foes. Were it not for beating a hapless Carolina team under Boomer the streak would be eight, with some very lopsided, ugly defeats. Nowhere near competing. Most of us know were it not for being in the ACC Dabo would not have 9 conference champs and even whiff getting near the playoffs. Third, change coordinators but no change in game planning. The offense plays timid. It was petal to the metal during those playoff runs. Now its dink dink dink, slow slow slow. For these last four years too often we beat poor teams poorly. Its like saying crime is down in big cities. You can say anything, but our eyes ain't seeing what you're lips are saying. I agree with one point. It can be turned around this year, only bc we play in the ACC. Although I have a feeling FSU and UL will bring it back to reality.

Nobody is impressed with us beating up on ACC teams and now we struggle to do that. The SEC has had our number for a few years now. More often than not for the past 3 or 4 years when we play a team with a pulse they beat us. That’s a fact. So yea call me a hater. Sunshine pumpers will be happy with mediocrity and pretend this is still 2018
