Last's night victory makes the Coot loss sting more

“I got a lot of regrets from the South Carolina game,” Swinney said. “But DJ is not why we lost."

That loss hurt more than any in the 5 year stretch, or the stretch itself. It hurt more than Dean's last second miss to tie the game in 06. It hurt more than Padgett's miss in 96 and more than the second extra point attempt in 84, which gave the coots their 1st 10-win season.

It's my opinion the loss cost our Tigers an appearance in the CFP and a chance to play for another Championship. Football's a game of inches and no one knows how a game's going to play out until it does. Remember when App State beat the #5 Wolverines? Upsets happen and one things for certain, a team can't win a title if they're not at the dance. We will never know.

All that aside, what stings the most for me, as a life-long fan and supporter is division among the fan base and how at least 1/2 of us, if not more, feels like the leader of our program has changed, and in our eyes, it's not for the better. Dabo's halftime and post game comments concerning Cade's series at ND was shocking to me. I've had breakfast with the man and worked with Kathleen and the Ladies Clinic so it makes a lot of what I've seen this year that more perplexing. He just hasn't come across like Dabo.

Yep everything we needed to happen did but that 1 point L that didn't need to happen will haunt us for a long time. Oh well.
