Check out the basketball forum at shaggybevo.com to see what the bovines think about Rick these days. One thread in particular, "The Official F*** Rick Barnes Thread" should give you a good sample.

He won here!!! He took us places that we are not use to being. He had us preseason top 10!
People hate him because he left but love OP! Barnes told us he was leaving OP left in the middle of the night.
You dang right I'd take him back today

Just curious what your definition of winning is?

BC he has been to 16 tournaments including this year...about 15 20+ wins season (two 30 win seasons) and made a couple elite 8s and sweet 16s and pretty sure went to the Final Four early in the 2000s..i am almost positive that's winning in ANYONEs eyes.

Exactly, so saying he hasn't won at the richest school is not true at all...going to 16 tourneys is winning. Heck we would prob be happy just making the tourney every other year. He won here also and even had us in the top 5 at one point with some big wins and honestly should have been in atleast the Elite 8 that one year. He can still get it done and can recruit.

But in reality, he only had one or two good recuiting years. Lost 3 players in one year to Dean Smith .

But he doesn't play an ACC schedule or recuit directly against the basketball schools in the acc. that's one of the reasons he left before, and the competition is worse now.

WHAT!? Yea he plays in the Big 12 which is prob hands down the best conference top to bottom this year without a doubt...and that doesn't matter, he still wins...he has won every where he has been...even here. All I am saying is you cant say he cant win even at the richest school because he has DEFINITELY won...just look at the last 15 years and if that aint winning then you will never be happy. LOL

The names of their coaching staff are more predictable than where Georgia's best football recruits are gonna end up.

I'd take him. He's still winning (not as much as he was in the early to mid 2000s), and he's likely become stale and complacent at Texas. That seems to be an issue with their head coaches there (Mack, Garrido, Barnes). Perhaps a change in scenery would invigorate him. The ACC is also a lot more manageable now than it was in his time at Clemson.
Of course, I don't think he has any interest in coming back, and the job isn't open either.
