Has anyone here ever tried to probate an estate in Alabama?

May 17, 2022, 3:18 PM

I can think of easier things to do.

1. Bring world peace.
2. Guarantee a Natty for Gamecock football.
3. Get Walt Deptula to stop saying "non starter".
4. Secure the border.
5. Stop stores from saying "We don't have any here. But you can check our website".

No dispute. But AL doesn't want anyone to have it!

My Bride is near suicide dealing with her Pop's stuff.
He was a 96 year old vet who stormed Normandy and spent his last years in a condo in Anderson. His eyes went north, but his brain was sharp to the end. He was a very high IQ guy.

Nothing mysterious, she long had power of attorney. She wants to move on, but selling the condo has been &*(&^*$%

My brother died in December. I can't be the Administrator because I do not live in the state. Okay, I'll play the "game" and hire an attorney. I have gone through three since January with none lifting a finger. Now, I've tried to get the "state" to appoint a representative and they get very annoyed when I call to check on the status, even though the application was submitted 8 weeks ago.

Meanwhile, brother's house sits empty while the market is making a bad turn. The house has been broken into and looted. And, all of his creditor think I am the one sitting still.

I had the house ready for market in mid-February. Silly me...I kept making 10-hour round trips down there to handle my end so the state could do theirs. And, I keep paying utilities, insurance, and other bills to people who want even talk to me because I'm not "authorized". (They will only take my money).

all estate attorneys must be slackards.

they don't do anything until you bug them, and then they bill you before they do what you asked.

She is on her second lawyer. I am pretty sure I could make the wheels turn, but I stay out of it as this is her deal.
