Hunter Johnson’s HS stats
Jan 11, 2018, 10:16 AM
|
|
For folks who like recruiting and star ratings, here’s HJ’s HS stats
2013: 445 yards, 3TD/4INT, 34-104, W/L: 3-7 2014: 1434 yards, 10TD/8INT, 122-226, W/L: 3-7 2015: 2545 yards, 31TD/12INT, 174-316, W/L: 4-6 2016: 2233 yards, 25TD/12INT, 166-318, W/L: 8-2
It appears that Hunter had his best season so far completion percentage wise as a freshman at CU. With another year of seasoning under Coach Streeter the sky’s the limit.

From my understanding he was the best player on his team by far. Had no super stars on his HS team like some of the other top QBs

So you’re saying his offensive line wasn’t as good?

By looking at those stats you would not think dude is a 5*. He really must balled out at the 7v7 events. And I think he did really well in the Army All star game...Its a different monster when you are in full pads and 250+ monsters are running to tear you apart.

From the limited window of opportunity he had at clemson

It seems he prefers to put the ball down field.

so does Trevor Lawrence, who only threw 1 interception against far better competition at the HS level.

Did you notice his team W-L record. Any QB would have a lot of INTs when trying to get away from the entire defense to get the ball out. With that W-L record, I would have expected more INTs!!!

Can he throw the screen pass because vs Bama that was evidently all we needed

I agree with those who say, and I'm a TB fan, but it felt like he was back throwing the screen left and right and our receivers dropping it

It appears that he was the only good player on his HS team!!! When you pass for that many yards and don't win a lot of games, coaches and team mates wasn't all that good, and it ended up being a pisser for HJ!!! His parents should have found a good team some where close to a family member, and sent Hunter to live with them during the school year, or at least tried to find a way to get him into one of those IMG schools to better his career in FB with the talent that he possess!!! I would hope to do everything humanly possible to assure my son that had his type of talent, and get him to a HS that could win championships!!!

Hard to judge HS stats. The QB at my son's HS is pretty good

but he has no one to throw to. If you looked at his stats, you would think he was awful. All a QB can do is hit his receivers in the hands..

True based on his HS stats, he doesn’t look that great. So as someone else said he must have done extremely well at all the camps because there is a reason he was ranked as the #2 QB in the country coming out of HS. As we all know, he was rated higher than either Tua or Fromm.
