For many people, it would not matter what our record is if Brownell was the coach. Take football out of the equation and what sport is a great deal better the last 20 years than basketball? Our record was not great before Tyson got hurt and now with Hall out, we are missing 32% of our scoring. Would our football record have been 10-3 if 32% of our offense multiple games? Easy answer, no.

10-3 despite tons of injuries. Had multiple games without starting RBs, receivers, TEs…
The problem for Brownell is what happened before the injuries and in previous seasons. We were not doing well prior to the injuries…and it’s been that way all year.
This season in particular is frustrating…but not the first time that we have underachieved when the conference was down….we have too many experienced players to be hovering in the basement of the ACC.

The good news is you can make this argument for every year

We’ve sucked. Don’t be stupid and compare to football. For many reasons including ones that would fit your arguments there is no comparison. Our worst season in 10 years and we are 10 win team in football. We were not good before they were injured. We lose so many games by less than 10 points. Figure out how to win a few close ones and we are in the tournament 50% of the time. There is no progression. Same #### different year.

Looking at the records, we are very similar to where we were 20 years ago in the Shyatt area. I think we are a little better than that in reality.

The issue is that if you go back another 5ish years and you are in the Barnes era or forward 5ish years and in the Purnell era. Both were better than where we are now.
