Because Watson got hurt in 2014

We were about to blow the doors off them, they couldn't stop us.
Then we couldn't move the ball and Stoudt three 3 picks, 2 of which were pick 6's. GT wasn't moving the ball.

2014 was on Chad Morris, just like a few other key losses. Watson coming in off an injury, and he treats him like a FB.

That is completely false and ignorant. First of all, DW4 had an injured finger. Even if your theory was true, that would have nothing to do with him hurting his knee. Second, DW4 was taking what the defense was giving him. A lot of plays we run are run/pass options. They were giving him the run, thus DW4 was taking it. He was on pace to run for 100+ yards. That loss had nothing to do with Chad Morris.

Lol I know right.
People want to blame Morris for the play calling after Watson got hurt. He had a much less talented QB in Stoudt which literally ripped 75% of the pages out of the playbook.

My only beef with coaching in 2014 was not the GT game. Watson got hurt on a freak non contact play. It sucked and it was what it was.
Starting Stoudt against Georgia was questionable but I'll give them a pass bc Watson was a true freshman and no one knew how he would react under real game pressure.
But during the first quarter it became obvious that Watson gave us the better chance to win, yet we stuck with Stoudt as the starter until the FSU game. We will never know for sure, but I believe we will in Tallahassee if Watson played the entire game.
Minor quibble at this point. No one is perfect and Dabo seems to make the right calls in hiring, recruiting and game decisions 99% of the time. He has earned the ultimate respect from our fans. Go Tigers!

It's all on Morris ,yet nothing to do with running the QB.

Chad's one fault is his inability to design a game plan around a QB that doesn't fit his system. HS & TE proved you could SPANK Oklahoma with Stoudt.

To go in first qb.
Total yards for GT at that point was less than 20 Yards Our QB comes in and throws a pick 6 on the second play of the game and I believe he throw another one later on .

Clemson has seldom played well there. Even with good teams we tend to play poorly there.

There's also just the happenstance that GT has its best team

s in years we go there. 2014 was their best team in decades, but DW got hurt and we decided we didn't want the ball. 2011 GT was a solid team but we went in big-headed. 2009 was a great GT team. 2007,05 we were fairly evenly matched and TB made just enough dumb calls to lose close ones.

Rules changes reward teams that throw the ball and he doesn't recruit well at all, especially given the plethora of talent in Georgia. They are dying a slow and painful death.
Never have understood the decision by DRAD to hire the guy. He may never live that one down.

One, Grant Field has a horrible surface which is rock hard to make it easier for option players to cut, but is miserable for teams that run an open offense and pass a lot to run routes at high speed. It has a terrible crown and divots easily making it dangerous. Two, their clock operator is a genius that I wish we had. When Tech is ahead he bleeds seconds off the clock with slow stoppages on each play, when they are behind he stops the clock immediately saving them time. He is a master.

I know in 2009, Dabo got out coached in the first quarter which put us in a hole. Then we dominated the rest of the game, so just about when we are going to pull it out. The Refs go to work and give the game back to GT.

In 2014, they finished 11-3 with a HUGH win over Mississippi State to finish in the top 10.
I imagine all of that comes to an end this year in Bobby-Dodd.

During the time frame you are looking at, we actually played two in a row at Clemson.
GT had Clemson and UGA at home the same years and wanted to split the two games so they could have at least one sell out every season.
