Travis Etienne numbers

I was looking over the overall numbers, and Etienne is near the top in the country in a few categories. He's had 83 carries for 761 yards, 9.2 YPC and 11 rushing touchdowns.
The 761 yards is good enough for 4th in the country.
The 9.2 YPC is good enough for 2nd in the country, and 1st among P5 schools. He's behind only Darrell Henderson of Memphis who is the leading rusher in the country, and averaging 11.82 YPC.
His 11 rushing touchdowns is tied for 4th in the country with the leader being Devin Singletary of Florida Atlantic. Among P5 schools he's behind only Jermar Jefferson of Oregon State who has 12.

Great numbers but too late for a Heisman watch. He could have run for over 300 yards at Wake but I sure do like having three RBs get over 100 yards.

Derrick Henry won it starting his campaign in the last 5-6 games.

Possibly, not sure if that’s true or not. He had 395 carries, spread over 15 games that’s still 26 carries a game. Ettiene is averaging 14 carries a game.

"too late for a Heisman watch"
What are you talking about? Are you implying that Etienne can't win the Heisman? I think that's what you're trying to say.
The season is 50% complete.
Nobody wins an award half way through the competition. ETN could continue to have an excellent season and be in that conversation in November. He is certainly one of the best players on one of the best teams. And that, if nothing else, will have him in the conversation.

It's pretty much true. Either Tua or Haskins is going to win

Heisman watches? Do you have to be a player? Does Nissan give them out?

1st 2-3 weeks of the season. In the eyes of the media (influenced voters) he was soooooo far ahead that even the losses and bad games at the end of season didn't keep him from winning.

Henry only averaged 5.6 YPC for the entire season too

He just carried the ball 395 freaking times. The only thing Henry was good at was being durable. I guess there's something to be said for being able to carry the ball 400 times without getting injured, but IMO there were much better plays in the country that year.
If anything, THAT was the year Deshaun should've won the Heisman and no the year Lamar won.

Yeah Deshaun or McCaffrey should've won in '15. We're seeing the divide between those guys in the NFL. Deshaun and McCaffrey picked up where they left off, where Henry is struggling against competition that's actually his size.

His OL can't hold for him in the NFL

The WR's should be licking their collective Chops!

This should mean we start getting loaded boxes and one on one coverage on the outside! So a team would have to have enough talent and depth to cover: Tee Higgins, Justin Ross, Amari Rogers and Hunter Renfrow, LOL! I like my odds with any of those guys 1 on 1. The offense has a natural advantage anyway; but add the type players I just typed and wow. Throw in a Diondre Overton, Trevion Thompson, Derion Kendrick and Green! If we can make good "zip code passes" we have the advantage!
Be nice to get a bit of the Art Briles vertical passing game implemented.

I agree, he should be in the Heisman watch, but remember all of those voters saying they cast early ballots for Lamar Jackson? I'm guessing the same ones have already voted for Tua.
