The mentality of this country he's been twisted back to the 60's. police should be respected and they will return respect. This is a huge loss to the community and my prayers are with his family.

No need in even trying to police that part of town, just stay out and let'em kill each other. And of course now momma says" he was a good boy". I didn't even realize he had been arrested multiple times and was in a gang"

Are police issued bullet proof vests?

They don't need them in Clemson but for the inner city police they should be outfitted with top of line Army gear especially when going into a situation with a known gang member who is trying to acquire weapons. Hopefully something good can come of this in terms of policy change to try to prevent something like this again.

One of the saddest parts to this terrible tragedy is that the policeman's killer Mackey was arrested in March 2015 for strong arm robbery. He was convicted and sentenced to 10-years suspended for 251 days time served.
So, arrested a year ago, convicted and sentenced to 10 years, but is out and able to kill one year later!! SO SAD!!!!
