Great win, ACC tourney wins always welcome, but 14-23 on FTs

Not going to beat VT with that effort.

We were actually a good FT shooting team this year, but we weren't today. Kind of what let NC State hang around.

First basketball game I have seen in probably 5 years. Free throws have not changed but did learn that Hall is one heck of a player. Very impressed with his entire game on both ends.

Today was a bad day. Over the last few years FT shooting has improved markedly to be downright dependable. Problem is shoot 5-6 from the line is nothing when the opponent gets to shot 30-36. Well, like Louisville game we were 2-4, they were 10-14, or Syracuse where we shot 8-11 while they toed the line for 20-26. OTOH, in the 2nd FSU game, we lost 81-80 but shot 30-36 from the line while FSU shot 25-30.

HALL 72-91 .791
DAWES 44-49 .898
TYSON 41-53 .774
COLLINS 72-122 .590
HONOR 33-36 .917
HUNTER 38-50 .760
BOHANNON 21-32 .656
HEMENWAY 22-29 .759
SCHIEFFELIN 18-26 .692
MIDDLEBROOKS 11-18 .611

I don't expect too much form the bigger guys (Bohannon, Schieffelin, Middlebrooks) but they're not AWFUL.

Don't understand David Collins, though. He goes to the line so much but shoot so poorly. He singlehandedly drags the team percentange way down. But he make up for it in volume.

Overall as a team, Tigers shot 365-494 .739 while opponents have shot 365-475 .768, so FTs have basically been a wash except that a few more made (e.g., FSU loss) might have turned some games (but we often shot well from FT line in those games as it was...FSU would have needed 32-26 from the line to get a win and we shot 30-36).

Yeah, Dawes and Honor both had a miss today in the last

4-5 mins. Very unusual.

we've got some good ft shooters. Hall at 50% ish and drawing fouls isnt a good recipe though

PJ entered the game averaging nearly 80% from the foul line. Today was an anomaly for him.
