Big 12 and recruiting...

May 20, 2012, 3:04 PM

Will a move to the big 12 hurt our recruiting? What about high school athlets that want their family to be able to see them play. For example. A recruit from F lorida goes to play for an SEC team other than Florida. Most of the games are regional. And at some point theyt will probably play Florida so thats like a home game to the family. Same as recruits from Georgia, North and South Carolina etc... Just wondering what everyone thinks of that...

fsu and usuc will still be on our schedule, and we won't be on the road every game. the same thing could be said for going to the sec-ark.;ta&m;mizzou;columbia,sc-they are all worlds away.

i just can't understand why in football we do say this and in basketball the kids are going all the way across the country (regularly) to play for the school they choose.beats the heck out of me, but it is true.

Big 12 Membership Helps Recruting

May 20, 2012, 3:59 PM

Clemson moving from the ACC to Big 12 will be a big boost in recruiting. Dabo will tell the players that they'll be playing in front of bigger and louder crowds than they ever did in the ACC. He'll sell them on all the new facilities that will be built with the extra Big 12 TV money.

Clemson will still play FSU, so that takes care of the Florida recruits. If GT comes along that'll be good for the Georgia families.
