Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Sep 13, 2021, 8:04 AM

Friday, roughly a half day of work since I was able to schedule a meeting in Charlotte to facilitate going to the The Black Crowes concert with RH and Co. on Friday night. It was fantastic.

Saturday, went to a game in Death Valley for the first time since Troy 2016. It was a great time. Team lost some focus a few too many times but the day did mostly what it should have.

Sunday, pretty lazy all day,

Good. Lots of productivity and relaxation.

I'm starting to worry that DJ's not going to win the Heisman.

Real nice, weather was fantastic. Low key Friday, afternoon river cruise, cooked dinner at home, driveway beers at my brothers house.

Saturday had lunch w some friends that are looking at a job in the area, watched Chelsea win 3-0, watched the Hoos blast Illinois, and enjoyed an OSU loss. Steamed some blue crabs and made a Beaufort stew w my brother & his fam and some other friends of ours here. Watched maybe 10 minutes of our game.

Yesterday went and hunted marsh hens then fished the jetties, caught a handful of black sea bass, sat on the point in the sand and cleaned them. Got home sunburned and half drunk so wife went and picked up sushi, will fry them fishes up tonight and make jamaican escovitch and rice & peas for dinner tonight.

Isbell.jpg(87.6 K)

or 4 if there are a lot of sucky teams

working backwards, saw Isbell and the 400 Unit last night in Athens, late added show at Terrapin that was awesome, great Stones' Sway for an encore and they also covered REM's Driver 8 in Athens!

Kinda looks like RH Tig on bass up there, dood could play along with the rest of them

Speaking of the bass player, saw that Auntie and the family has some fancy banner at their tailgate declaring who they are and stuff, nice

Saturday without a tailgate was fun walking around, burger at Loose Change was awesome, could get used to a mobile tailgate

Worst pickup line ever is "do you frequent tigernet?" which I used on an unnamed woman jounger on Friday night, she does and the pickup line did not work for multiple reasons

Friday in Clemson at the Orange Shoe Event for the Clemson

Sep 13, 2021, 8:28 AM

Women's Alumni Association. Drank a few too many.

Saturday morning up and went to the Clemson Experimental Forest to exercise. Ran some trails but not much, everyone else was walking and tired. Hit up a waterfall near there that I have never been to before. Pot Belly for lunch, hotel to shower, then back to tailgate. Drank too much, didn't go into game, sat at tailgate most of the time.

Sunday morning up and went to the Sunnyside Grill for breakfast then drove back home and unpacked. Quick trip to Riverwalk for some running/walking/biking and dinner and home.

Back at work this morning.

Friday: left Gangland around 5:45 heading to God's country. Dinner and beers.

Saturday: In parking spot @ 10:15. Had a pretty large crowd. Son of and his friends and a few of ours. Got back to the hotel around 9:00. In my best Homicide Sergeant Roger Murtaugh voice, "I'm getting to old for this sh!t."

Sunday: Stopped for breakfast on the way back to Gangland. Unpacked and watched the Sunday night NFL game.

Sep 13, 2021, 8:44 AM

Friday: nothing

Saturday: got up to take one of my daughters to Clemson. Had a great trip, almost no traffic. Hit up Tiger Walk and then headed over to RH Tig's tailgate. Talked to him and aerozeptallica a while. Killed some time and went to the game.

The game was OK, DJ sails way too many passes and trusts his arm way too much......BUTT WHY THE #### WAS RENCHER IN THE GAME SO EARLY ?!?!?!?!?!?!

Sunday: scokker match, lost a heart-breaker 2-1 in Cootlumbia.

Rencher is such a great example of the PAW Journey, it makes sense to show five star recruits that might be in attendance how Clemson rewards our sub-par players and coach's kids with just as many touches as our highly recruited athletes with NFL aspirations.

The weekendy part was excellent.

Sep 13, 2021, 8:52 AM

Friday, group of 8 or us including aerozeptallica and Shark Girl went to see the Black Crowes with Dirty Honey opening. DH was very good and is a real up and comer. Crowes were excellent, althought I will say there is a distinct difference in vibe between the actual Black Crowes and the Robinson brothers with hired guns behind them. Still, a great show and we had a blast.

Saturday, up and off to Clemson for the first time since 2019. A fairly calm tailgate, MauldinT® brought his one legged daughter by for a bit, and Willmo® texted to see where we were since he stopped by before anyone got to the spot. Game was as expected...OL didn't knock anybody out of their cleats, there were a lot of missed assignments, and Obed® might not be completely off base with his concerns. I guess we'll see going forward. Headed back home shortly after the game and got back in time to watch some highlights and crash.

Sunday, mostly relaxing, chores, grocery run, and turned down free Reckless Kelly tickets because I didn't have the energy to go to Charlotte and sit in an inside venue with a mask on. Good thing, because RH Sis called me at 10:30 to say Mom slipped in the bathroom so I headed over there and we got her loaded up to go to the ER to get checked out. Turns out she fractured a couple of ribs, but doc said she could pretty well continue normal activity. Could have been worse. Only one can go in with a patient so Sis went and I went home and crashed a little after midnight.

AND THEN THAT'S WHEN IT GOT GOT SERIOUSLY WEIRD.

I'll address that in a post of its own very shortly.

Overall, I would give Friday-Sunday 18.95/19 Covids.

Tacos on Friday night.

Wife of worked all weekend. Saturday consisted of keeping a one year old alive while watching OSU/Oregon and Iowa/ISU. Supper club on Saturday night.

Sunday: church & continue keeping child alive. I caught the first half of our game on a condensed YouTube video. DJ looks straight up bad. His WRs bailed him out regularly. I was glad Dabo tore into him after the interception. I second the previously stated concerns about the offense, LJD, and playing Rencher meaningful snaps in the first half. Ended the night with some Eggplant and orzo from the garden with homemade focaccia.

Friday: Yard was aerated at 8:30am. we lost internet access at 8:35am. Apparently back when the house was built, AT&T had issues with contractors not burying the cables deep enough. Surprisingly it had never been cut in 20 years, so we got lucky with our first aeration after less than a month of living there. Friday night we had no internet, so we watched this thing called a Blu-Ray. Was weird. Had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

Saturday: Hung around the house and got super productive. Finished unpacking a few last remaining boxes and organized. Recaulked the guest bath tub, took down a few curtain hangers, patched holes, tidied up. Watered the yard. Once the baby went down, I went and had some beers with one of the brunch bois and had McDonalds in bed.

Sunday: There was a kids triathalon in the neighborhood that started and finished right in front of the house. Met a lot of neighbors, hung out with the baby outside in the yard. "Family Fun Day" happened at the other neighborhood pool, so we went and grabbed some hot dogs for lunch. During the babies nap, I hung my 13 year old 32" outside on the screened in porch. This is a massive life event for me as I feel I have finally made it. No pallet deck, but maybe next equity bump. Spent the next 30 minutes having some afternoon delight and relaxing. Leftover spaghetti and meatballs on the porch for dinner.

Sep 13, 2021, 11:27 AM

The mount was already there when we moved in and there is an outlet below the window to the right of the TV. One of the previous owners has a long extension cord running along the trim of the window and had the end looped around the existing mount.

So, ideally, that is what should be done, but it wasn't in this case. It works for me, because the TV is large enough to hide the cables in the back and the extension cord is organized enough that it doesnt bother me.

Got to-go from Clemson marina and watched the fly over from the boat. Was pretty cool, looked like somebody got life flighted out of there right afterwards. Got more pictures hung around the house, cut grass, etc. No tailgating for us since my sister and dad have the Rona'. Sorry fbcoach, they aren't on ventilators, they social distanced from my dad's boat while drinking Bud Light this weekend.

Did pretty well on fandual yesterday, and went 1-1 on my fantasy teams. Won the first game in my big money league though, so that was positive. Kyler Murray has been an integral part of my success the past two years.

Went up to JR Cash's yesterday for an early dinner, was nice not having everything so crowded this weekend. The lake has dropped a degree, floating season is probably about over unfortunately.

Sep 13, 2021, 10:03 AM

Friday - date night with wife. had an AMAZING fried chicken sandwich. It was so good. Kids stayed at in-laws. I put on a good show for the wife. She was happy.

Saturday - went to find football cleats for my son, no go, everyone is out of his size. We then spend 2 hours going to car dealerships and looking at cars. We had a blast doing it. He had a ton of questions, he loved looking and I think I have narrowed my search. Took both kids to get ice cream...took naps and the headed out to the Detroit Tigers game. We had a blast! Kids loved it and it was perfect weather. I had a beer and it was good.

Sunday - went and picked out a Bernedoodle. We get her in about 6 weeks. Rushed back home got all the stuff together for flag football practice, rushed out there to Coach and get the kids going. Then I rushed to get son back home so I could drive my bud's truck out to a car show. He has a form of ALS so he is getting a bit slow to drive. We drove out and sat and looked at cars, was a good time. Dinner was a hodge podge of leftovers.

9/10 for sure.

-1 cause we couldn't take the boat out.

Pretty typical

Sep 13, 2021, 10:18 AM

It sorta started Thursday. I walked down to the Windjammer to catch The Movement playing. Good show--pretty cool light show. But it was the most drugs being done in plain view of any concert I've ever been to.

Friday night-watched a ground hog day type move on Hulu (Palm Springs). Mildly entertaining.

Saturday hung out around the house but then around 1 took the boat to the Sullivan's sand bar and since it was a game day, and summer is just about over, there weren't near as many boats out there. Let the dog run on the sandbar and play with 3 or 4 other dogs until he tired himself out. He fell asleep about 3 or 4x standing up on the way home. Got home and got drunk washing the boat. Looked at it Sunday; it needs to be re-washed.

Sunday-submitted responses for the home inspection on the house I'm under contract. Later, walked the dog down to the dinghee and watched the sun set. Low humidity, perfect temp--it was perfect on the beach yesterday.

realized the comma in that subject is critical

getting baby into a bit of a routine finally so starting to figure this out a little bit. made some minor tweaks to how we're feeding her and it's seemed to make a difference

fri - cooked a steak and had a nice dinner w/ the wife. bought a nice bottle of wine before last Christmas, and been holding onto it since dawghater2she was preggers. it was the highest rated bottle of wine I've logged on the vino app (dew wreck oh mend)

sat - don't remember getting off the couch until I went to pick up take out pizza and wings from a local joint. watched a series or two of our game...not much. maybe had two miller lites

sun - in-laws came to help out. FIL went and played golf w/ me, MIL stayed and helped dawghater2she w/ baby and chores. shot about average, but played terrible. yet some how I made more putts. first time playing in about a month, #### poor tee to green was to be expected. but I was raining 6 footers for the first time ever (granted, they were usually my 2nd putt).

gone try and figure out a workout plan w/ the wife here soon (when she's cleared to work out and have #####)

Best weekend I've had a very long time...

Sep 13, 2021, 3:00 PM

Friday...took off work and drive to Charleston for Fantasy Football draft weekend.

Met sunset of buddies at Ripley Light Marina. One of our crew keeps a boat there. 3 of us met early and toured around Charleston harbor and then did a little fishing around the jetty area. Other buddies arrived from Nashville and Chicago. We are staying on Seabrook so 2 guys take cars to Seabrook and the rest of use ride on boat to Bohicket Marina. Awesome ride. Intercoastal is like glass and no one is out...maybe saw 2 other boats on the 1hr+ ride. Finally get to house on Seabrook, have draft, eat pulled pork and continue to drink too much.

Saturday we all go out fishing on boat. Started off off the coast of Edisto and mostly caught hammerheads. Then moved inshore for a bit more. Was wonderful weather and a great mix of drinking and chilling. Hit King Street sports bar in Freshfields. Back to house some went golfing and I hit the house pool with some others. Watched the CU game. Champion's dinner at Hege's. I think it made the top 10 meals list. Crawfish cheese cake app, oysters on half shell, she crab soup, and Cajun Paella for entree which included crawfish, andouille, calimari, clams, mussels, and lobster tail...holy crap it was good. Played some poker and bed.

Sunday, drive boat to Red's at Shem Creek to watch early NFL games. Secured spots at tables in bar and had good food and drink and lots of T&A. Great time. Returned boat to Ripley Marina and drove back to Seabrook. Watched late games, Frogmore Stew for dinner, watched night game, and hit the bed around midnight.

This morning 4 went to play golf and Kiawah and the rest of us had breakfast and I hit the road for home.

Great much needed guys weekend!
