Good morning everybody. How was your weekend?
Jul 27, 2020, 7:51 AM

Friday night, stayed home and watched baseball because I could.
Saturday. I did one of the more redneck things I've ever done, go tubing in the Reedy River. We put in on at some bridge off Fork Shoals Rd and got out at the some Cedar park something other other. So far no bacterial infectons.
Sunday, didn't accomplish anything, as is the norm.

Fri - Day 1 - did really well, found ourselves near the top out of 60 boats. all we had to do was catch a decent fish next day or 3 keeper dinks to get paid
Sat - Day 2 - lost a bigun, weighed in 1 dink, finished just out of da money
Sun - Stayed in all day, church on youtubes, picked up sushi for dinner

Punishingly boring.

Friday, was headed to the pool, but ended up with a thunderstorm around 4:00 that dumped rain until almost 7. Got take out tacos, drank beer, watched TV.
Saturday, did nothing productive whatsoever other than play a lot of bass. Went to the pool late afternoon, home to fix pork chops and mac & cheese, watched TV, crashed early.
Sunday, slept late, played a lot of bass, did nothing productive other than a long hike along the river with the pup. Went to the pool late afternoon, came home and fixed BLTs, drank the last Heady Topper in York County, watched TV, and crashed early.
Maybe the most boring weekend I've had to date, pandemically speaking. 15.75/19 Covids, will do a better job of planning for next weekend but crazy busy work week caught up to me and we just never made any kind of plan.

APM’s head was finna explode by the end of last week - too much work, too much COVID, and really need a vacation. But alas with COVID, no vacation is coming.
Friday - wound up working until about 6. Had dinner and me and the missus watched the last two episodes of Space Force. Bed.
Saturday - work, karate, lunch, pool, UFC, bed.
Sunday - walked the dog with the missus, online church, last games of the EPL season, pool, dinner, started watching 2001 on TCM. Got about halfway through. Bed.
Up & at em today for hopefully a less stressful week.

Friday: Put in my notice at job of 15 years. Really caught some folks by surprise i think. Over to a friends house for dinner and beers. Fried fish, fried shrimp, pan seared scallops, some weird baked thing with grouper, crumbled ritz and cheese. I did not have the heart to tell them what a sin this was.
Saturday: NOTHING and it was glorious. I left the house exactly once to pickup groceries from Lowes. Baked sketti for dinner.
Sunday: Ran some errands with Wifeof, a 90 YO lady fell in front of a store and we saw it. Had to basically yell at people not to touch/move her until the EMS could get there. Piddled around in the garage in the afternoon and hit the high spots with the weedeater but refused to full on cut grass.

East Coast Party Ended...
Jul 27, 2020, 8:45 AM
|

No party supplies. Friday expected the first to get fixed. It didn't. John Deere sux. Watched usual westerns. Made bratwurst and chili for me and granny. Had Wendy's chicken sammich for lunch. Burned top lip on hot brat.
Saturday checked game camera. Somebody stole one. ########. Other one had read batteries so no pics. Are leftover dirty rice and biscuit for supper. Had Bojangles chicken for lunch. Watched Svengoolie movie that night.
Sunday slept in. Watched Man U and Leichester City play kick ball. Went to Zaxby's for lunch salads. Watched Happy Days and Momma's Family. Made pizza for me and grandma's supper.
Monday waiting on John Deere call.

Fri- took it easy w/ dawghater2she. cooked steaks and crab cakes on the smoker. had seggs, drank bourbon, the works. we weren't stoked to be chilling at home this weekend instead of driving all over the #### place looking for a house.
Sat - dropped truck off to get fixed (fo free this time #####!) and played golf. played decent...couldn't really score though. on way home mom texts me she's in hospital for the covid. fock
spent Sat fielding calls from family and trying to get deets from nurses.
Sun - no news from hospital, so went to play golf again. hotter than a sombich. played much better, couple birds, only one dub.
come home and the AC is out in our house. double FOCK.
good news is we have a home warranty so they should hopefully fix it. better news is our house is being sold as-is so it shouldn't impact sale. bad news is it's hotter than two rats ####### in a wool sock and i might have to go stay somewhere esle tonight. wife of is going to work at her bro's house.

But that's every day now.
So I had about a 20 day weekend as I quit one job, had a baby, and then started another job.
It was exhausting, still is exhausting, and at this point I imagine it will be exhausting in perpetuity. But the little fella is doing great, is already way over the 99% mark for height, and we're loving every minute of it.

a car seat? I am unfamiliar with this car seat bully term.
We will try to teach him never to pick on the shorter kids. They can't help they're vertically challenged.

The kids with car seats used to tease the poor kids whose parents just tied them to the seat with some bailing twine.

Everything is for sale.
Jul 27, 2020, 10:41 AM
|

Friday--no idea what I did.
Saturday--went by the boat dealer I bought my boat from, and he has every new boat sold through October, has zero inventory, and can't get any. He said everything on the used market is selling like crazy, and that I should prob try and sell mine. So for no real reason, I put my boat up for sale with a stupid number just to see if someone would buy it. So far, no takers, but its only been since yesterday morning.
Someday, hopefully my house will sell, so on Sunday we drove to Beaufort to see whats going on there. That's Bewfert, SC, not Bowfort, NC, even though they are spelled the same. Anyway, I think I need to look further south at Port Royal, cause I probably wouldn't like living in Beaufort proper. There is about a 2 sq mile area down there I liked in the city, and the houses cost as much (or more) than they do here.
The Bahamas are on an indefinite hold right now because 1)our passports are expired and its a 3-6 month process to get them renewed (because covid) and 2) Bahamas isn't letting anyone from outside in right now anyway. So if this place sells, we'll rent somewhere then maybe check out over there in 2-3 week increments.

Beaufort is cool and laid back, but

there's a definite older vibe. Mrs. Tig loves going there, but there's little action downtown, not much in the way of live music, and the retiree demographic sort of rules the night down there. At least, that's my impression from our trips down there.

I did find a couple dive bars on the pier/downtown, so I was already fine with that. There was a cramped, dingy place called Hemingway's that looked like it might be from the 1700's. The AC worked overtime and there were 3-4 locals in there watching what looked to be a 20" TV. I was like "well, I could just stay here I guess", but Mrs Ineligible wasn't having it.

Went to the little Poker Run party friday night for the captains meeting. Saw a bunch of people I didn't even know lived in the area anymore. Ran the Poker Run Saturday and had a blast. Tried to stay out of the way of the big boys, but still got blown off the water. I did beat a Donzi 22 classic just by virtue of having a bigger boat. Made all the stops, had a blast, then hung out at the dock the rest of the afternoon. Didn't get to partake in the raft up due to having a baby, maybe next year.
Sunday my Yeti broke. Today I go to submit a warranty claim and am told it can take up to 7 days just to get a response. I am the rare person who uses a Yeti like they're meant to be used, 7 days is too long. I paid the money to avoid this type of scenario. Surely I can't go back to my heavy hard sided coolers, but I don't know what else to do. Maybe I'll buy an RTIC.
Great weekend slightly soured by a ###### Yeti zipper.

Because they all seem to run together in a loop, like we're Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, but with even more Ned Ryersons.
Although Sunday stood out, as I did fire off some Estes model rockets with the boy. Happy to report that we did not start a brushfire. Being that we were 5 miles from Hartsfield Jackson flying ~1100 ft., I'm expecting FAA jackboots to come impound my pickup truck any day now.
