Good morning everybody. How was your weekend?

Jul 29, 2019, 7:55 AM

Friday night. Went to What Ales You for a couple pints then home to be lazy.

Saturday did some birthday present shopping and kicked around the house a bit while Sharkgirl worked at Shoeless.

Sunday, super lazy until the evening time when we got out and did some yard work that has been put off. Poke beery grows quickly, apparently.

Sunday - church, Concour D' Elegance for 4 hours and then a Rolls Royce party at a local restaurant. Got to drive the Cullinan down the street. One Word. Amazing. Had dinner with Wayne Carini.

Lotus 311

100000000/10 weekend

More pics from the show later.

What was Wayne like?

Jul 29, 2019, 8:21 AM

On TV he seems like one of those guys who is your best buddy if he thinks he can make a dime off of you, and a total ######### if he thinks he can’t. I’ve had a couple friends tell me he’s a nice guy though, so my hot take is probably wrong.

As for the Cullinan, I’m sure it was cool....you were in the best possible place....the inside.....where you can’t see the outside.

Looking forward to the additional pics.

Beach since last weekend.

Jul 29, 2019, 8:26 AM

Ocean Isle is fantastic.

Hung with friends, ate glutinously, drank glutinously, parented some.

Tons of sun, tons of bikinis, very little sleep, ran every morning, zero hangovers, zero sunburn.

10/10

Back to reality this week.

Did I see your wife and brood in Walmart yesterday?

Jul 29, 2019, 8:50 AM

In the noonish time frame, maybe? I was intent of getting out of there and walked right past her before it dawned on me that might have been her a couple of aisles later.

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

hmmmmm. We went to WalMart on Saturday evening

Jul 29, 2019, 8:29 AM

Fri - worked at the Palmetto Amateur golf tournament doing scoring. Filled divots and drank beer after. Managed to get the wife out that evening for some live music cover band.

Sat - worked at the Palmetto Amateur golf tournament doing scoring. Filled divots and drank beer after. Played golf after the tournament was over. Mellow Mushroom for supper.

Sun - lazy morning. Played 18 with sonof in the afternoon. He had his first natural birdie after stiffing a sand wedge to 18 inches from 85 out, so that was cool. Mexican for supper. Redhead things for dessert.

Re: Good morning everybody. How was your weekend?

Jul 29, 2019, 8:42 AM

Wife was out of town all weekend. That left me free to do whatever I pleased...

So I took the kids out to eat on Friday and cleaned the carport. This is the first time I have ever been able to get all three vehicles in there. Big moral booster for me.

Reinstalled the engine on the excavator on Saturday.

Played around on the excavator / had a lazy day on Sunday.

I really squandered my weekend with out the wife, but oh well. I am now well relaxed and ready to go for the upcoming week.

and achieved a success rate of eleventeen jizzillion percent.

Friday, took half day, went home and ate leftover tacos and drank a few ice cold Mexican lagers. Played with pups, since I was keeping Joonyer's dog. Took off around 5 to pick up Joonyer and drop off his pup, headed up to Charlotte to eat at Arepas Grill. The drive was amazingly easy given that it was Friday 5pm traffic, got to the restaurant and ate EXCELLENT arepas, split a couple of Carta Blanca 40s with Joonyer. Headed to the Neighborhood Theater to see American Aquarium and The Bottle Rockets. Get there a little after the doors open and there is BJ Barham working his merch booth, had a long conversation with him, then to the bar, then to our seats. Show was PHENOMENAL...Bottle Rockets did a backwards retrospective of their 26 year career, the only disappointment being not playing Welfare Music. American Aquarium came on and absolutely burned the place down.

Saturday, slept WAY late, finally got rolling with some coffee, long walk for the pup, then got cleaned up to head back to Charlotte for another epic day. Started out at Thirsty Nomad Brewing, I think we sampled everything they had before settling on a pint of the Cherry Craic Irish Ale. Their beer is good, but I'm not sure I had anything I'd call Earth-shattering. Then, off to the House of Purge Rage Room. Spent 25 minutes breaking bottles, plates, printers, TVs, computer monitors, and pounding on a car with an ax, a sledge hammer, and baseball bats. If you 're looking for something ridiculously fun to do in Charlotte, THIS IS IT. After, headed to Blue Blaze Brewing. Had several of their beers...IPA, Pale Ale, and Lager, all really good. They had a bunch of acoustic instruments hanging on the wall that anyone can pick up and play, so Sis' boyfriend and I proceeded to play and sing for about 2 hours. Drew a little crowd and the events manager came out and handed us a card and said if we're ever interested and coming back and playing to give her a call. They were having a neighborhood movie night that evening, and we got invited to stay and eat free BBQ sammich plates by the neighborhood association folks. We ate, visited, but didn't stay for the movie. Got home with a fairly serious buzz, walked the pup, and had to crash around 10.

Sunday, VERY slow morning. Pup got me earlier than I wanted but got her out, did a few house chores, went to the grocery store, put some Big Chair time in before heading to the Thirsty Beaver for John Howie Jr. and the Rosewood Bluff. I'd seen John in the Two Dollar Pistols years ago, and more recently as Sarah Shook's drummer, but this band was freaking EXCELLENT. They had Dave Hartman from Southern Culture on the Skids playing drums, and got to have a nice long chat with both him and John after the show. Honky Tonk music and cheap beer rotation (Schiltz, PBR, Hamm's and back around again) was the order of the day. Stopped at Cook Out once we got back to Rock Hill...my only misstep of the weekend. It was tasty enough, but the acid indiscretion at 4:30 am was not a welcome thing.

I already done tolt you people that I achieved a success rate of eleventeen jizzillion percent on my weekending.

Pretty good

Friday I don't recall. This part of my GMEHWYW is becoming a habit

Saturday did some work, then went to New Balance next to REI for new hoof covers. Hit Hobby Lobby and the headed over to the Lost Cajun for dinner. Totally fugged up the tip on the receipt but didn't realize it until I woke up Sunday AM and thought about it for some reason.

Sunday we drove up to Sunset SC and hiked the Eastatoe Gorge to see The Narrows, hung up the Enos for an hr or two and took a nap beside the river. Thats about it

Friday--Went to see an EXCELLENT Uncle Mingo show at the Windjammer. These guys are still good. How many times do you get to hear a band play the theme from the Jeffersons, and see the sax player jump up and down on a pogo stick? Mookie's daughter won the hula hoop contest. Picked 19B® out of the crowd. Later went to the Southern and saw some friends there and watched Hans Wenzel play. They're good, but they are really missing their guitar player-he needs to get better soon.

Saturday nursed a bit of a hangover, then later brought my boat home and washed it, that evening had dinner with some friends.

Sunday we went out on a freinds boat and came back and crashed.

9/10, only because I had to go back to work today.

Friday: reflux and old college roomie make it into town around 2pm; tool around for a bit, grab 18 lb. brisket out of dad's fridge, trimmed it up, got the smoker ready, and headed towards IOP. Doors open for Mingo at 6pm, but figure we have until 7:30 or so, so we get to Acme at 6:30 or so for some shrumps and gruts (they do them as well as anybody in Charleston not named Wentworth Mansion/Circa 1886, seriously). Walk over to WJ a half a block away at 7:15, and we hear Mingo playing Movin' On Up, which is typically their show-closer. Momentary panic, like, did they take the stage at 6 sharp and we missed the whole show? Hustle in, it did just start, and they played for at least 2.5 if not 3 hours. Edwin McCain came up to do a song with them. Hula hoop contest with lots of talent. 45 year old honey with spectacular hiney in front of us.

Met Ineligible, didn't see him kicking any children, and he randomly picked me out of a large crowd, so his doxing skillz are still honed to a razor's edge. Stopped by redneck bar on way home because frans felt like they needed to experience it, which cost us a trip to Food Lion next door for beer (the origninal reason for pulling into the parking lot in the first place) since we left redneck bar at 11:05. Brisket on around 11:30-12, stayed up til 4 drankin'.

Saturday: series of 90 minute naps netted me 3 or maybe 4 hours of sleep, brisket wrapped around 10am.

Was planning on taking brisket over to buddy's house that evening per some plans made the previous weekend. Texted buddy to figure out who all was coming, and he was like "what?" Him and his wife totally forgot about it, and she put the clamps on it pretty quickly. So we recalibrate, and 19She is fine with a bunch of dudes coming over to our house instead to crush brisket, so that's what happens. Cubed up some of the dryer burnt ends to throw in the baked beans--that's a gamechanger. No pics. Made a bechamel cheddar sauce to go on top of brisket on onion rolls for some legit beef n cheddars. No pics. Still erect.

Sunday: laid around. All. Day. Actually, I did go to the store first thing in the morning to get buttermilk so I could make biscuits. Then...All. Day.

Mainland Container on August 17th. early show from 6-9, so might look for more live music after. You should consider squeezing that into your active social calendar. Pretty sure Ineligible user is going to make that scene too.

Oh, and if you're looking for something to do tonight, the Red Clay Strays are playing the 6-9 slot this evening. I didn't make it yesterday, but they did the 11-2 brunch slot at the Tipsy Burro. A lot of the Thirsty Beaver regulars were there and told us last night that the Strays are awesome.

Friday, I got a new edger and put it to use after taking a defunct version back. Them edges is now DEEP son, but good god that packed sandy soil that hasn't been edged in years tore through a blade and a half quick.

Friday night, built a big bonfire, got belligerent drunk and played loud music in the backyard in hopes of worrying the neighbors.

Saturday, edged a little more, weeded and sprayed some roundup. Saturday night, lit the bonfire that was still smoldering back up and burned some old wooden chairs that were becoming an eye sore.

Sunday, did some laundry and cleaned the house a bit. My stupid dog ensures that I have to vacuum every other day. Sunday night, had supper with the neighbors, let the dogs play a bit, smoked, met some cool people, etc.

Saturday Watched grass grow. The pecan robbing tree rats have to stand up to see. It's funny to see them have to stand up to look for cats. ??
Made beefy French onion pot pie. Put biscuits on top. Yum. ??

Sunday. Buddy came over. Put new solenoid in John Deere. It's alive! Cut some of the hay. Then it threw a belt. No cut now. ??.

Monday Got up too early. Went dirt road riding and checked game cameras. Sitting in chair watching Bonanza and posting on Tnet. ?? Gonna make a shrimp brown rice casserole tonight.

Friday: Went out and listened to a local band. Pretty good music. Had a great time. Female friend had to much to drink so took care and made sure she was home safe.

Saturday: Worked in the a.m. Cleaned house, mowed grass and bush hogged over at pond. Grilled steak and squash.

Sunday: worked then went to church. Met mom for dinner and went to get Myfavjr. Watched race, washed/dried clothes, grilled chicken wings and threw football. Was smoked on PS4 by Mfjr. Read some before getting ready for bed!!!!
