Good job by Dabo, learning from Saban.

Fired by ECU last year, but prior to that a very successful career.

Hired as a "defensive consultant." I'm assuming that is something similar to what Saban started doing years ago.

I think it is a great idea. One more person to assist Tom Allen. A lot more experience and knowledge than a 24 year old GA.

Mike was the HC at TC Roberson HS in Asheville when my sons attended there from 1999-2004.

TCR was always known to be a baseball, basketball and soccer school winning multiple state championships in soccer and baseball, but always had just an average football team, finishing around .500 every year.

In my youngest son’s senior year, they went 13-1 losing to a much larger Shelby Crest team in the regional final. Shelby had 85 players on the team while TCR had 38.

I ran into coach Houston at the TCR ring of gold induction ceremony two years and had a chance to chat with him before the beginning of his third year at East Carolina.

I am hoping to catch up with him at like Keewee day with a football team on August 7. He’s a great guy, hardnose and does know defense, and has turned multiple programs around in a very short period of time. He is just what Coach Allen needs as they don’t have much time to get ready for LSU!

Also, before Mike moved to The Citadel, he was the HC at Lenoir Rhyne

He’s a proven coot killer. Everyone was loving it when the Citadel beat them.

Dang, didn't know Coach Houston was so successful

And a HC so often!

He's got to have a fine stash & portfolio that allows him individual independence to do what he wishes.

Great hire~

I was neighbors with Mike Houston while he was head coach at The Citadel.

Very nice guy! He lived behind me on campus in one of the townhouses near the infirmary. His wife Amanda brought over their two boys to play with my kids several times.

I shook his hand and thanked him in person after The Citadel beat the coots in 2015.
