some bottles out of a crowded cabinet. I can see (some of) what I have now, and drink it, because I remember it exists! Found an ORVW 10 Yr in the back of the cabinet I forgot was there, so that was cool.

Mixes with Coke, mixes with Sprite, mixes with Mt. Dew, mixes with Diet Rite, mixes with Kool-Aid. That's how REAL aficionados do it, anyway.

What am I, some kind of rookie? I also categorized by which Sammy Davis song I'm going to sing as I pour them, but that one is less obvious.

what's that top shelf, 3rd from the end? looks like it's next to a bardstown fusion?
And what's in the case, top shelf 2nd from the right against the wall?
solid work tho man, like the shelf idea. nice humble brag with a twinge of sophisticate vibe going on. well done.

I fully intended to open that bottle when I got it a few months ago, but it's already jumped pretty significantly from the buck70 I dropped on it, which makes me...pause.
The reason for those pauses is the other bottle you're talking about, the EHT small batch in the tube--nothing interesting about the small batch, but every other EHT bottle has gone absolutely batshit in the last 18 months, moreso that every other label. But all of it is steadily increasing in value, and way faster than markets. If I could go back 10 years with the knowledge that I have today, I could spend 6 months hunting hole in the wall likker stores, and retire.
Like the EHT Tornado bottle:
Came out in 2011, sat on shelves at retail for $75. 2 years ago, it was trading on the secondary at $1700, give or take. Today? Cool $9,000. Even buying 5 or 10 of those at $1,700 would have been an amazing payoff, and they'll probably be going for $20K in a year or two.

man...there's a handful of regrets in there. But whiskey is for drinking with family and frans. You can't take it with you. I don't think that means getting stupid and opening every valuable bottle you have, but I'd rightfully deserve some shit if I had more unopens than opens.

I ain't danglin' no $9K bottle on a 3.5" woodscrew! I'd have that thing in a safe.
But I AM pretty impressed with how sturdy these shelves appear to be--I think either one could hold my 233 lbs. up, honestly.

Nestled in the second row behind Riffs and 4Rs:
This is (based on my minimal research) the same guy behind the Obtanium labels. Turns out, light whiskey is pretty danged good. I like this bottle a lot.

Have you tried any of the Light Whiskeys? I really enjoyed the one I tried (I think it was the cotton candy bottle) and it was certainly packed full of flavors. It drank at its proof, but for some reason that first dose of ECBP C919 is a scorching ill never forget.

of that pic, but that's light whiskey, from the same dood that bottles the Obtanium line. I'm super impressed with this one. Tons of depth and complexity for something with "light" in the name.

Only 107 proof though, so probably takes like purified water compared to the heavy duty hazmat stuff. I need one for my collection.

because sitting in back of cabinet. They're 10 and 11 year single barrels, sitting on the shelf at retail like 6-7 years ago. Likely something outrageous now, in the $3-400 range (unopened, obviously).
