Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday night, I was pretty tired from getting up at 2 am to go on a hike to see the eclipse. I don't even know what we did for supper and I was in the bed by 10.
Saturday, got a bit of a late start but still got a lot of great tailgating in. Had visits from 3Time, Mauldin T, slammedkrzy, and Shorty. Basked in the warm sun most of the game, mocked people for the Overrated chant, hung out after the game to let traffic free up, then to my friends place for his annual Friendsgiving concert.
Sunday, cleaned the house a little bit and attempted to get all grocery related errands done for Thursday.

Mama G had her knee surgery Thursday so all weekend was Papa G being her man servant.
Surgery went well, pain was intense but she is a trooper - appreciate all the T's and P's from you guys.
Happy Thanksgiving week to all - hope you get to spend time with your family - make some good memories.

Went to Central Friday for a quick visit with SIL and to place flowers on the graves of Mrs CUTIG61's parents. Then over to Anderson and dinner at Dolce Vita on Hwy 81. Spur of the moment, never heard of it before but very good. Back to the hotel and up early for the ride to the game. Game was about as good as I could have hoped. Long ride back home right after. Sunday, early church then relaxed all day.

Fri - Went out to Guy's Pizza for dinner. Watched a movie with kids
Sat - Sold the car at 9 am (dude was awesome...it's good to sell to someone you like). Drove to Clemson, parked, McJr left his shoes at home, 1 hr later we made it back to parking spot with new shoes.
Y'all hate on students for chanting overrated, butt they showed up. Big crowd and they were loud, great game. Hit the grocery store on the way home.
Sun - Church in the morning, went to Mama's for Thanksgiving and played ball outside with kids. Leftovers for dinner and lots of laundry.

chants overrated, as it is the dumbest...well, now second dumbest chant in all of chants. But yes, the students did show up and I haven't seen the hill like that in years.
During one of the songs that encourages folks to jump up and down I could see a clear demarcation of the students vs old folks, in the middle of a section. It was amusing.

Fri - not much. Seems like I was in bed fairly early because
Sat - up at 5:30 to get ready for trip to Clemson. Brother was adamant that we would leave at 6:00. He picks me up at 6:45. Oh well. Meet flow0440 at exit 19B and ride into Clemson with him, it's dammn cold. Tailgate for a bit, see our old roommate. Make way to game and I realize I forgot to get flow to transfer ticket to me, and I can't reach him because he is already in the game. Off to Esso I go. Watch game there, enjoying the warmth of inside. Bro and SIL, flow and son eventually make their way there. Tigers look surprisingly good, about time. Leave early to beat traffic. Back home and go to mexican with wife and little one for wife's birthday (oh yeah, did I mention I left my wife in Aiken on her birthday to go to game in Clemson?)
Sun - redhead things, go to golf club to practice a little, downtown to have a couple with the fellas, home and crash.
8.5/10, no complaints really.

Friday....grocery shopping and prep for Saturday
Saturday...tailgated, got in game in time to see Seniors and team run down the hill. Son-of didn't handle cramped seating and noise very well (ASD) so we left after a few series and watched the game in Esso with BigDaddy. We were in section C and I didn't think about it being so loud there next to students and scoreboard, so that one was on me. He did better previously with UDP tickets. Got home and watched more football.
Sunday...did some unpacking, some honey-do items, grocery shopping for Thanksgiving at Wal-mart grocery store neighborhood thing. Not sure what possessed me to do that. It was packed...almost all line self-checkout...left store angry. Probably saved a good bit over normal Publix, but not worth it. Fantasy team sheet the bed, Steelers lost-but covered.

Friday: Worked half day, then drove to Clemson to take krzywife to her first home game! Stayed with 3Time, saying hi and chatted good and late.
Saturday: GAME DAY. Crashed RH's tailgate and he wasn't there, hung out with aero & shorty a good bit. Then walked over to 3Time's normal tailgate spot and Mauldin walked over there to say hi. Then the game was amazing. Drove home that night, got home quite late.
Sunday: Played golf, carried the bag, lost 5 balls but still managed an 80 and had fun.
Monday: ###### WORK. Didn't want to work this week.

I'll keep it short. Last tourney of fall ball. Dallas's road system is still the most confusing in the world, with all the interwoven frontage roads and entrance/exit ramps, and dedicated u-turn only lanes, and the NOVA/DC levels of traffic mixed with that "just crossed the border" driving ethos don't help at all.
Was pleased to get my In-n-Out burger fix. Also tried Raising Cane's Chicken for first time (I'm traveling with a 15 year old--it's not gonna be gourmet corner)....pretty darn good. Daughter got some legit interest from 3 different Ivy League schools plus 4-5 other D1's that have been following her for a couple tourneys now. She did about as good as she could have hoped this fall and I'm happy for her.
Checked in at DFW for my flight home and discovered that I booked our tickets for Dec 21st, not Nov 21st. Luckily it only cost me another $22 to correct my error and we made standby flight home by 6:30. Watched zero sports so will be enjoying Clemson and F1 replays. Great weekend for the books.

Friday - tacos for dinner. Went to the mall with my son to get him some new pants. Struck out. Went home, put kids to bed and ate about 25mg’s. Went on a ride to outer space with some good music and came back.
Saturday - woke up early and made breakfast. Son had two basketball games. Daughter has swim lessons…busy morning. Went home and watched that game called football about all day long while kids did good and played. Wife even watched with me. Took kids out to dinner. Had some beers and a couple drinks of good liquor. CRASHED HARD at about 9pm.
Sunday - woke up and played with wife. Kids slept in late. Watched cartoons, then off to church. After church went to local ski shop to grab my sons skis, got him a new pair of snow pants. They are baller. Then we went and all did family swim time at the pool. It was just us there, so that was fun. Hodge podge dinner. Bed by 10:30 after the SNF game was a runaway.
Monday - it’s a great day to be alive!!

Friday: Took a half day and drove down to the coast for the weekend. Got Mexican takeout for dinner and relaxed.
Saturday: More relaxing. Drank a LOT. Eggs, sausage, and biscuits for breakfast. Pizza for lunch. Did not have dinner because I had snacked all day. Spent about 2 hours on the beach with the doggo and the baby. CRulezJr loves a sandbox, but couldn't really comprehend the sand on the beach.
Sunday: Drove home, almost getting pulled over twice. Blew the yard just for it to rain this morning and spill more leaves all over the place. Got into an argument with tigermanac® about spending $42 on a pour of arguably the worst Van Winkle. Got chinese takeout. First time from the place around the corner from the new house and its easily the best chinest takeout I have had, so I am pretty stoked about that.

Saturday: left at 6AM to head to Heaven. Met up with KenM_Tigerfann, he let me use a parking pass. Got to meet his son, student at Clemson, and got to see petegroove.
Parked, Port-O-Jon'ed, walked over to see aerozeptallica. Also got to meet Sharkgirl.
Quick aside, aero, I have no idea how you met her, but what a sweet lady. She's def out of your league.
Walked over to 3timeTiger's tailgate. Finally met her and soccerkrzy® and his wife.
Everyone was just awesome. The game was even better. GReat Saturday
Sunday: did very little except errands. I heard we lost a hoops game because we tried to cheat and didn't get away with it.

Joungers.
One RH Tig taught me about Unknown Hinson
One 19B® said he'd go to the Pour House for a Rev. Horton Heat concert where Unknown Hinson was a special guest. He then did something to get in the doghouse with his wife and didn't go.
Sharkgirl and I joined forces in keeping people who wanted nothing to do with the mashpit safe from those who wanted to be in it. She talked to me first and here we are.

My Saturday...(really long)...
Nov 22, 2021, 9:33 AM
|
|
Daughter of, and her husband travel from CA to the ATL for thanksgiving. Because daughter of graduated from UGA, she failed to check the Clemson football schedule when making their flights. Flight scheduled to arrive at 1:30.
I leave home of just as Clemson is kicking off. Waze shows it to be a one-hour and 10 minute trip. Thinking….listen to first half on the way to the airport. Pick up daughter at the half. Listen to 2nd half on the way home. Watch the last 30 minutes of the game on TV.
I hit traffic on the way. New arrival time 1:30. Daughter of sends text at 1:04 – “just landed”. I make the airport at 1:20, just as Clemson goes up 17-3. Hourly parking is unusually heavy, but luck into a spot and make my way to the South Terminal.
Good God at the people, I guess thanksgiving travel has officially begun. Just a mass of people exiting the terminal. That group over there is actually running. What the heck? Me and another guy in front me are actually leaning over a rail on the walkway as people were running past. Dear lord these people are jerks...about to throw an elbow..That’s when I saw the cops.
The guy who was making his way TOWARD the terminal in front of me was shoved by a cop back toward the parking garage yelling “Active Shooter Turn Around”.
That’s when the Kyle Rittenhouse trial comes to mind. The ongoing Arbery trial in GA. Daughter of and her husband somewhere in the terminal.
I get behind a parked car and call daughter of…where are you? We are making our way to baggage claim, are you here? …OK, stay where you are there has been a shooting…What? Where?...Just find a place behind something, I honestly don’t know what’s happening, but if you don’t know about it, it must not be close to you.
People still coming out of the terminal, but the initial panic seems to have subsided. Now people are actually walking toward the terminal but are not being allowed to cross the 2nd road, closet to the terminal. I join them. I’m talking to a guy who claims he was right beside the guy with the gun. I ask if there was only one shooter…he says there were two. I ask if they caught them, he says one of them, but the other guy got away.
Then something happens and panic run #2 starts. Screams and a panic run away from the terminal. This is that moment you always seen on the news. I run. Get into the parking garage and think…if there were two shooters, this was planned, what if there is a bomb in the parking garage. Walk back toward the terminal. I see a woman carrying an infant with a blood smear on her face running toward me. She runs past and I see the baby has a cut on its forehead. Guessing knocked down in the panic.
Call daughter of. She says they have been told to stay where they are (terminal A). Tons of people there. They have been told it was an accidental gun discharge. Accidental gun discharge doesn’t sound bad…I tell her it’s crazy out here, but I’m going to sit in my car and to call me when she is able to move.
Hourly parking is a new madhouse. Around 2:15, 45 minutes in. No one has left hourly parking, but cars are still coming in. Since there is no open parking, everyone is lining their cars up behind the parked cars. Even if daughter of could get here now, there is no way to leave.
Try to find out more information by going online, but there is no internet connection. Call brother of in SC. Tell him I am at the airport and he says he JUST saw what was going on while flipping through the channels. Confirms accidental gun discharge.
They finally allow people back a little after 3:00. Thankful no one really hurt (3 adults reported injured while exiting terminal, and I saw that one infant with a cut on its head). Finally make it home around 5:30. The traffic arriving at the airport as we were leaving can’t be described. I finally went online last night while watching the game on my DVR. Apparently, someone was found to have a gun in their baggage while going through screening. They were taken into a separate room to inspect the bag, and when the bag was opened, he lunged for the gun. It “accidentally discharged” when he grabbed it. He then fled the scene. They know who he is, but apparently, (as of last night) was still on the run.
Yeah, let’s not do that again. The things you can get yourself into when you miss a Clemson game…

Friday: Took off of work to run a fundraiser clay shoot for a local ministry. The event went off without a hitch and I got to spend a gorgeous fall day outside. Afternoon spent running some errands. Wife of and I tried to watch "Red Notice" on Netflix. Not a great film. It seemed like they must have thrown cash at big name stars to work with a bad story. A.
Saturday: Lots of football mostly. In Venebles we trust. Had to come in to work some in the afternoon to make up for taking off Friday. I cooked some Ribeyes to go with roasted broccoli, sourdough popovers, and the last fried okra of the season. Started up a big fire in the outdoor fireplace. Enjoyed the evening. A-
Sunday: Up early for church. Car battery was dead in the cold. Church was excellent though. Pizza for lunch. Saw family early in the afternoon and an old friend in the late afternoon. Solid dinner of leftover steak cooked with onion and chipotles in adobo over grits. Looked at the budget and grew anxious for the holidays. Still an A, though.
Overall: A. Work and the concerns therein kept it from being an A+.

Friday: left Gangland around 4:30. Box truck blocking center lane on I-26 heading out of town so traffic was bad. Checked into hotel, had an hour wait before reservations at Outback so ms midland and I went to Hooters for a drink to kill the time. Modelo draft for me. Some kind of dirty martini for ms midland. I tried to explain that at a wings place, beer is the goto. If you want liquor drink then its liquor + whatever soft drink you want. ie. Jack and coke. Bartender girl had to Google how to make the drink. ms midland was not impressed. Dinner at Outback was good and the service was great.
Saturday: left hotel at 9:10 with a quick stop at Bojangles for a biscuit and coffee. Holy Snedeker the traffic was bad. Pulled into the Lot 2 at 11:20. Started talking to the couple 2 spaces down and did not stop until halftime. Went into the game for the second half. Tailgated after the game for about an hour. Walked down to Backstreets for wings. Got back to the hotel in time for the second quarter of the UofSC - Auburn game. Boy is Auburn poorly coached. I know the ACC is having a down year but the SEC East is terrible.
Sunday: got on the road around 9:00 heading back to Gangland. ms midland went Thanksgiving food shopping while I napped and watched football. Five Guys for dinner.
9/10 because of game traffic.

snuck off to the Pendleton Brewery for a 1 year anniversary/late oktoberfest celebration with friends. It was all good until the polka band started up and my black dog got freaked out my super whiteness (seriously, the accordian freaked her out, I think).
went home, met soccerkrzy® and his wife - super cool. Chatted with them for a bit, got caught up on life.
Saturday we tailgated with tailgated with some lungers, then to my regular spot. enjoyed the game ...probably more than I have in a few years to be honest (no biatching allowed!)
Watched some more football on Saturday, hung with the boy as he played video games. Started prepping for Thanksgiving with the family.
On Sunday, slept in for a change. Watched the Panthers lose (but it was a good game). Also watched the Lady Tigers beat PSU. Luckily, I missed the guys game...wife made chili. friends came over for dinner and conversation. finished off the night streaming the Clemson soccer game.
I didn't do ANY prep work for the week though, so I've got lots of work to finish up to do before going on vacation/family arrives. eek!
