Let's say Clemson wins v Cuse at home and loses to WF there. Gets one win in tourney.
1) are we in the tourney (even if in the first four)
2) if we are and then lose that game, is Brown L fired?

everything i read says the Tigers are in..
and a decent seed, absent a collapse in these last games and the ACCT... will not be first four
i think BB's job is safe, again barring total collapse these next two weeks

Dont disagree, but we're a physical team who tries to play a finesse game.

Our big man would rather brick 10 threes than bang in the paint for 20 points, which would also get the other team’s bigs in more foul trouble over the course of a game.
All the while our two million dollar coach stands arms crossed with a blank scowl rather than calling a TO and suggesting maybe the tactic isn’t working.

And don't bang it inside when they should its the coach's fault. The player either does it or benched. Yesterday JGIII couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Sit his ###.

"Jack up a 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock and 3 other teammates also out on the perimeter." It was like Terrence Oglesby drew up the game plan on Saturday.

We might get killed in a 5-12/6-11/7-10 game by a team with fast guards.
That's my fear.

We are in the NCAA tournament no matter what.
The only possible way BB gets fired is if we lose out, lose first game in ACC tourney, and lose first round NCAAs. But even then he is probably back.

After careful review of the available data...

Last night was every bit as predictable as the sunrise or sunset. I didn't watch, I was busy heading to a show in Charlotte and never even looked at my phone for a score until I was home at midnight and getting ready to crash. When I saw the score, it neither surprised me nor disappointed me. Clemson basketball has sandpapered any remaining sharp edged from my inetrior lateral giveadamn bone. So to answer your questions based on the assumptions provided:
1. We're probably in A tournament. Is it the one fans want to be in? I kinda doubt it. Somehow, I feel like we're going to see something else as predictable as the sunrise or sunset...the careful placement of a 6" .357 snugly against the top of the foot with an experience hand and the trigger expertly squeezed.
2. Doubtful. IF this team somehow manages to look good enough in the ACC tournament to secure a bid to the Big Dance, that would be enough to prolong our basketball misery and get Neff off the hook of having to do all the extra work it would take to find and hire another mediocre coach with the innate ability to produce frustratingly mediocre at best results.

Both are 5th year seniors and played over 30 minutes. Our senior center was 2-10 from the 3-point line.
So it’s hard to be optimistic about our tournament chances even though we likely limp in. This team can lose games with poor shooting or untimely turnovers or casual defense. The edge from our team’s “experience” has diminished as the season progresses. It’s hard to see a sweet 16 run with this team and coach.
I am exhausted with Brownell. His “best and most experienced” team has big question marks coming down the stretch to his 14th season. Next year looks to be a rebuilding year.
Who knows what Neff will do? It’s hard to generate enthusiasm for MBB if CBB is retained. Timing seems right to make a change given the results and status of the program.

Neff will make a move if he is as certain as he can be privately that he can get the coach he wants before making a public move.
I’m pretty sure Monty Lee would have gotten one more year if Bakich wasn’t available and a fairly sure lock.
It feels to me like Brown’L’s future rests less on his own performance at this point and more on if Neff can get his replacement.
I for one appreciate this approach much more than becoming a laughing stock and settling for your 3rd or 4th choice like some places have.

We are a 5-7 seed in the NCAA tourney right now...

so based on your hypothetical we are still a 5-7 seed. I don't know where some of you are getting the idea we are still on the bubble right now. This hasn't been a bad season (we're firmly in the tournament and won at UNC) but I understand the frustration that it could have been a better season (ranked, higher seed in tournaments)
As for Brownell, only way he gets fired is if he misses the tournament.
As for the NCAA tournament, this team is capable of being a sweet 16 team or better, but also could easily be out in the first game. It depends on how well our seniors play/shoot more than it does coaching. Guards rule in the tournament so Chase/Joe have to lead the team. Jack Clark being healthy is also critical as he seems to be a weirdly critical piece for our team.
