Game Day
Jul 16, 2015, 3:28 PM

I heard that Game Day has already been set for the Notre Dame game. Has ESPN changed how they choose sites for GameDay? Yes they usually do decide the first game way ahead of time because we'll it's hard to lose a game before the season starts. But generally they try and pick a nationally significant game. Now if Clemson wins in Louisville they should be undefeated going into that game. But Notre Dame will likely have a loss maybe two. Don't get me wrong I'm happy about it, just confused.

They play Texas GT and umass at home and @ Virginia before us. I think they will be 4-0 and yes I believe it will be gameday as we will be 3-0.

Bama/UGA, Ark/Tenn, Ole Miss/UF, Miss State/A&M.
Also, its a long shot maybe but Georgia Tech could beat Notre Dame in week 3.

Bama/ UGa is the only one that really compares

But if both Clemson and ND are undefeated at that point, then the rankings will be pretty similar to Bama/UGa. Honestly, though, Bama may lose twice before they play UGa (although I don't think Ole Miss will be very good).
And do we really think GT beating ND is a long shot? Navy only lost to ND by 10 last year and had to stop Navy on 4th down inside ND territory to get the win the year before. Navy was ahead in the 4th quarter of both of those games.
I guess you could look at that and say that ND has experience with Paul Johnson's offense, but their experience hasn't been very good. GT's much faster than Navy, and they play better defense, too, so I'm not sure how that one will turn out.

I believe GT will beat ND. GT is going to be VERY good this year. We beat not overlook them.

ND can be 1-4 and still be considered 'relevant'

the media types slobber all over ND regardless of their rank or record. It's embarrassing to see grown men act that way about a team that hasn't shown much in a while.

Just curious. Who do you see ND losing to so as to have this likely loss or two?

Probably looking at Texas and GT

I see you guys most likely winning pretty easily against both UT and UVa, but I do think you'll struggle with GT just based on how you've played against Navy the last two years. If ND wins those three games, they'll probably be pretty highly ranked coming into Clemson. They'll certainly be more battle tested than Clemson, and we'll know a lot more about them.

I think GaTech is the toughest matchup of the first four games. ND should beat Texas at home. It is going to take Charlie Strong to get the Longhorns back to their traditional place among the game's elite. UVA in Charlotteville could be tricky, but I think ND just has better athletes than the Cavaliers.
