SUC seems to get more outta their average recruits. they will turn a 2/3 star prospect into a 4/5 star player more often than us it seems{i.e.dj swearinger}...could be coaching, player development, S&C, injuries, etc. I personally believe it's the coke and roids like in the black magic years.{i.e. dj swearinger)

Add the fact that they get many more opportunities to coach up lower ranked players, so the law of averages dictates they'll have more success stories. We put very few 2* guys on the field. They do it all the time.

Our class will be good. Wont be ranked high because it will be small but we lead for a lot of our targets. Not worried at all.

Scar has a hard time recruiting out of state period. There is no draw to that program outside of football (and even then, you know you will never win your conference or go to a BCS game). I mean really, what national recruit wants to go live in COLUMBIA, the concrete scum pond full of crime and pollution. And obviously no one is going there for academics.

It's also very early in the cycle. They will probably be top 15 by signing day. Even with limited numbers from Clemson and South Carolina, both programs are at a point where we can target and land some of the top players on our boards. Clemson will sign about 15-16 guys this year because of limited scholarships but at this pace about 12 of them will be 4-stars or better.
Speaking of messed up recruiting. Alabama had like 99 scholarship players last year and only 85 scholarships and they already have 26 players in their 2013 cycle with a few more guys on the board. Can someone from the NCAA drive down there and stop that bull crap. They're running a dadgum NFL training camp in Tuscaloosa.

The SEC has special rules (a hard 25 per year number) just because of Alabama. Guys disappear off the roster with transfers and medical hardships every year.

How does Bama have more guys on their 2013 board? This is the 2014 recruiting class, and Bama currently has 8 commits I believe.
I agree, they take way too many players and cut them (which is ridiculously classless), and I'm sure they'll end up with 25+ again this year, but they're not there yet.

Nice try. Dabo's first class was in 2009. Of the 12 he signed, only 5 fit the bill as 2/3 stars. 4 of those are returning in 2013. All listed as the starter at their position. That leaves only Corico Wright/Hawkins as the only player to fit the bill that has moved on from Dabo's first class.
The 2010 class, Dabo's only other draft eligible class, features 15 2/3* players. Of which 9 are currently on the depth chart and still playing. Of the 6 who are not - Jake Nicolopulos had a stroke but remains on scholarship, Sam Cooper is recovering from an ACL tear, 2 did not qualify, Joe Craig was dismissed for obvious reasons, and Demonte Buice transferred.
Dabo obviously had a lot to do with the development of a number of those players. He hasn't been head coach long enough to judge him by players he recruited making it in the NFL. The thread was specifically about development of 2/3 star players which this staff has done as well as anyone.
So now, why don't you take a minute and tell me whats happened with the 32 2/3* players SCar signed in those same years.

we may have beat you by a slim margin in the recruiting battle 5 out of 6 - but in 2009 we fired our head coach and only signed 12 to your 29 and your class ranked 25 places ahead of ours. If you place any value on recruiting you have to weight the value of the entire group of scholarship players on campus and this year - for the first time since 2008 - the total weighted value of our class exceeds South Carolina's. It is still a road game so I'm by no means predicting a victory. When we hired Dabo most SCar fans were convinced that it would devastate Clemson. A position coach with no head coaching experience going head to head in a small state with one of the great SEC coaches of all time. And while you've won our matchup, you continue to scoff at Dabo's other accomplishments - whistling past the graveyard as Clemson narrowes the gap in score and in talent. This season, for the first time since he became coach, we will pull ahead in total talent. Spurrier SHOULD win 4 out 5 games against a young coach like Dabo. But it's not going to last. You know the Ole Ball Sack is going to tuck tail and run as soon as it turns and then you are in for a real world of hurt. Cause then Dabo will have the talent, the experience, the seniority, the stability, and the motivation to humiliate South Carolina as often as possible. It is a beast of your own making - just as we allowed whats happening now by tolerating Bowden's mediocrity for so long.

There is one little fallacy with your argument...you still have to develop the talent. Clemson has had better recruiting in years yet they cannot develop the talent at the college level. Besides Sammy Watkins, what other 4 or 5 star talent has made a big impact on the field? Name 5 starters that were 3 star players that have made a huge impact in Dabo's tenure. There are more bust from the 4 stars than impact players so far.

Viztiz, I'm just not seeing it that way. I don't think our 1 class in 2009 had that much of an impact over winning all of these games recently. Clemson has had more 4 and 5 star players in the past 6 years than USC and as I mentioned 5 of the past 6 recruiting classes were ranked higher. Yeah, there were some good players in USC's 2009 class, but clemson signed guys who were ranked just as high if not higher that year and the following.
So it could come down to a couple things:
The recruiting service rankings aren't completely accurate (probably true to some degree.)
USC is better at developing talent.
USC has the better coaches.
Any combination of the above within various degrees.

Haha y'all crack me up, it's the end of MAY! Signing day is still 9 months away and there will be plenty of time to get our recruits. The 2013 season hasnt even started yet and after teams surprise or disappoint, there will be plenty of de-commitments and commitments to go around. If you really think we will have the 42nd ranked class after signing day, wake up.

You're placing too much emphasis on that 2009 class so you can use it as a crutch for the poor head to head results.
I just looked at our respective classes from that year.
You had 8 contributors from that class who were starters or will be a starter for next season.
We had 10 freshman signees who went on to start hames and one juco contribute.
You weren't nearly at the disadvantage as you are claiming. Again you're using it as an excuse.
