Maybe a pound/pound-halfer. Largemouth. Caught on a little Rapala jointed Shad-Rap in about five feet of water at the mouth of a small pocket off Little River.
To make excuses, I actually did have to work for a few hours -- some things could not wait -- before finally getting on the boat. And that really cut in to my time on the water.
I hate it when my job interferes with my lake addiction like that.

Did you see the Bassmaster Elites weigh-in at Greenpond this wknd? They were catching 40-50 bass a day, mostly spotted bass. The herring are spawning and spots are feeding. If you didn't catch 15-20lbs with best 5 each day then you were not competing.
But a bad day on water is better than good day at work, just saying.

I rarely ever get down that far to fish especially now with dock gas being north of $5/gal.
The family lake lot is down that way, though. Just 1,000s of precious memories of that part of the lake -- Portman, *Party Island, Andersonville Island, the D A M, Big Water Marina.
Poker Runs. Fireworks on the 4th.
I love Hartwell.

I use a bar of unscented soap on a size 12/0 treble hook ( about the size of my fist) and tie it to the shoreline with a milk jug as a bobber. I can feed our kids all month on one of those. Be careful though, a 40 pounder and easily pull you under if you get tangled in the line. We lost our oldest daughter this way.
