responsibility. Let's just stop the people that are gambling with uninsurance and then mooching off the system when things go bad from being able to do so. I think we should make those people pay for their insurance when and if they can.
Then, we're better suited to take one from the great Ronald Reagan, and continue to support those that can't afford insurance. To improve further, instead of being reactive and covering costs once they inevitably need care, let's save money by insuring them proactively.
This is the conservative answer, and it will work.

I wasn't even alive during his Presidency. I was just stating what a pure free market would do with this issue.

with scholarships and internships, I've had a high paying job for 2 years and just bought a house with a 20% down payment that I saved up by living frugally.
So yeah, don't try and tell me I haven't earned anything.

People, including you and me, make stupid choices all the time. Thank goodness we have each other to fall back on once in a while when that happens. Thank goodness we're not a bunch of jerks who will say, "Sorry, you made the wrong choice. No help for you."
I've been cut enough slack in my life that I would never begrudge some slack being given to someone else.

me choosing not to buy a Porsche 911. It's not a decision, it's an assessment that I don't have the means.
And when these people without insurance go to the hospital for treatment, you're going to pay for it. "Every man for himself" sounds good until you realize that the world just isn't that simple.

Put all insurance companies out of business.
Everyone is responsible for their own healthcare
Maximum $ amount to bring a drug to market $500K
Maximum $ amount for malpractice is $250K
Doctors must publish their rates, and operate like a for profit business.
Hospitals must publish their rates and operate like a for profit business.
Market forces have not been allowed to operate in healthcare for far too long...so premiums have gone up, doctor fees have gone up, medicine, medical devices have increased in prices.
We didn't have this model always folks.
