I'd say the ol' Noles are maybe a .500 team running this little unimaginative one-trick pony offense they've had to build to accommodate DJUs significant limitations.
Which amazingly enough looks ALOT like the little unimaginative one-trick pony offense Clemson had to build for him here.
And just as we all learned and FSU is now learning ... the guy can't extend drives so your high-powered D gets gassed ... and the other team capitalizes and you lose by a FG or a TD ... or barely get out alive by a FG or TD ... all while Big Dave sits up there blaming the system.
I think this really exposes what an unimaginative and maybe even a little bit lazy portal mercenary Norvell really is as a HC.
Only a goof would have put this team on DJU's back.
Swinney is soooo much the superior coach.

Part of me wonders if Norvell brought him in to prove he could get more out of him than Swinney, given his Swinney envy.
He's learning now though.

the more I convince myself he did it as a stick to Swinney's eye. And today it backfired spectacularly on him.
There's no other reasonable explanation. Anyone with two eyeballs and a couple of neurons could watch DJU's reel and see what they're getting.

One thing I've always noticed about him -- he's always the guy on the edge of the touchdown celebration scrum. I don't think he connects (no pun) very well with the other players.
And after he threw the ball at the feet of his WR1 on what would've been a game-changing TD throw yesterday, the WR was very obviously frustrated.
That's a bad sign this early in the season. Why all these programs have so willingly gaslit fans about him is beyond my understanding.

He's an odd duck. A nice kid, no doubt. But an odd duck.

can't really stretch the D on a consistent basis, it makes it easier to just stack the box and dare them to throw, which DJU only did on one drive.
So maybe it's the offensive coordinator's fault for not calling better plays and the receiver's fault for not getting separation the rest of the game.
A lot of folks blamed his sub-par play on those thing when he was at Clemson.

When the QB is not a threat with his arm, the defense can sell all out on stopping the run. An occasional 2 yard pass with a 5 yard run will not usually beat you.
I don't know about the FSU WR talent because they were rarely used and when they were the majority of the passes weren't close enough to catch.
