The CFP basically proved what FSU (and Clemson) have been saying for years: The ACC as a conference does not properly support members that invest heavily in football. "Football schools" have been punished for being members of the ACC.

"For years"? Was there another year it could be argued an ACC team should have been voted into the playoff field and was not?

The fire has been burning in regards to FSU getting out long before the snub.
The ACC has a $ problem related to the Grant of Rights and the previous revenue distribution model it was using. FSU (& others) know that the $ gap between the ACC & the SEC/BIG will eventually show up on the field. If there’s no path for the ACC to get the $ and close that gap, then the best option is to go elsewhere if that door is open.

I don't disagree that the ACC is locked in to an untenable contract. I'm questioning the notion that the playoff committee has a record of slighting ACC teams by keeping them out of the playoffs.

No, because they never had a situation where it came down to leaving the SEC out. This is the only time that an ACC team finished the regular season as undefeated conference champs and the decision had to be made for $$$ to keep the 1 loss SEC team in and disqualify the ACC...you might fool your little SEC cronies with that "eye test" argument but every fair minded individual knows that the only results that should matter are in the win loss column
Besides, if your dawgs could've played worth a #### we wouldn't be having this conversation right now

We also aren't having this conversation if Clemson's RB picks up a blitzing FSU DB or if Clemson had a semi-accurate field goal kicker. We can "what-if" this to death.

Or if Auburn's incompetent DC could scheme and coach his team to stop 4th and goal from the 31.
Then both UGA and FSU are in...

I can understand the dilemma of the committee on the FSU situation. I don’t see as a conference thing as much as FSU probably was not one of the the best 4 at the end. The committee’s job was to pick the 4 best teams. Georgia is the one that probably got left out that is one of the best 4. However, that 3 pt loss to Bama did them in. I will be surprised if Georgia does not dominate FL State without its QB

Ironically the 2014 FSU team was on the other side of this very conversation then. Undefeated and sputtering along but got ranked 3rd. They were the only undefeated team and many of the talking heads wanted TCU or Baylor in over them.

Doesn't have to do with just the playoffs. For years it's been known and seen that the SEC teams are treated differently. Have an SEC top 25 team lose and they often drop no more than 5 or 6 spots. Any other conference and that team will often drop 10, 12 or more spots. Preseason top 25 is often filled with SEC teams with no merit. ESPN has a heavy financial interest in the SEC and will manipulate and do anything to promote and keep their investment at the top period.

Another meeting? This one is extra super duper special. If they jump three times and sprinkle magic dust maybe the GOR will dissolve this time.

I, for one, hope the meeting is about not going to the OB. I would love to see them not play, and they might do that. You know they are good at cancelling out at the last minute.

Clemson class of 1966 and I do not post much. I do however have several family members affiliated with FSU. How much more feasible does a law suit become if the State of Florida is a joint plaintiff?

Time to start paying attention folks. This is the beginning of the domino effect. The actions decided by FSU are what break open or don’t break open the doors for the SEC and Big10 to decide if they can sell their members on further expansion. There will be no invites considered until those two conferences understand their risk legally and financially to invite members from the ACC. FSU will be the trailblazer for how a settlement plays out to exit the ACC. We will gradually see how FSU plans to finance it with private equity partners. Then we will see Clemson’s response to those details.
Don’t be fooled by the legal actions. Those are only intended to force the ACC (as a collection of schools not intending to exit) to find a GoR settlement agreement so that the ACC can survive without the few members that plan to leave.

FSU was left out of the final four because they are not one of the four best teams.
The committee selection process is subjective.
No where in the process do they mention putting undefeated teams in the final four.
However, the principles listed on the committee’s website does mention that they can take into consideration players and coaches that contributed substantially during the season, but are no longer available for the playoffs.
This horse is dead.
FSU BOT is a clown show of redneck car dealers in real estate developers. Pure comedy.
