I looked it up, and yeah...Woody's dad was a contract killer. At least one of my friends knew this and said Harrelson has been asked about it over the years, and especially when Natural Born Killers came out 31 years ago. Wild. Not sure how I missed it.

And as a sidenote, McConaughey claims that his mom knew Harrleson's dad around the time he was conceived and that there was a possibility that he and Woody were half brothers. He suggested they take a DNA test in 2023, but never heard whether they did--assuming not related if they did because that woulda been newsworthy.

Lee wasn't the SOLE inspiration for Fleming's James Bond, but was definitely a significant part of the composite Bond character Fleming created.

I do remember thinking that he was prolly one of the most Bad A dudes. I did not see the James Bond reference, but I could 100% believe it from what I remember reading about him.

So I knew this. Long ago when Woodie was coming off Natty Born Killers and I knew him from Cheers, he also did the Spit Fire Tour that came through Clemson when I was a Jr ~98/99. I started learning about him.

Very neat guy who we talked to when he was at Clemson for the SFT. He actually held little Pabst when she was a new born baby just born at Oconee hospital the night of the SFT.

Anyway I knew his father history and when No Country for Old Men came out I put it together.

But there are interviews with Woodie where he drops mention of his dad not being a nice guy and was in trouble when Woodie was a young boy.
