new 20.5 cu ft top-freezer fridge we got on a black Friday deal. The side-by-side design just doesn't seem to have much usable space, especially freezer space, even though it's a larger fridge.
Today's trash day so cleaning out the main fridge and the extra fridge. I'm pleased to report that I haven't found anything older than 2015 so far.

The side by side idea doesn't work that well.

I've had both types, and found that if the freezer is on the bottom 1/3rd it seems to have more usable space.

it's much more usable space. Next to that design, I think the ol skool top-freezer, one fridge door design is the most usable. $540, free delivery, $20 haul-away of old fridge, total less 5% more on Lowe's card.

frozen pizza in the freezer.
My other don't on fridges is the water/ice on the door. Takes up a lot of space for minimal convenience.

Water ice on the door in a fridge on top

is the suck. Takes up space, the icemaker is tiny and it never works right. Mine is frozen solid right now.

We've got the french door with bottom mount freezer.

Icemaker is in fridge compartment which eats up a bit of space, but there's a massive slideout drawer at the bottom of fridge that can hold pizza boxes, and large casserole dishes like it's nothing.
Dew recommend.

3-4 glasses then stop. You've got to pull out the drawer and slam it shut to get it to start working again.

reach a little further for those pizza rolls nomsayin?
we got a dbl french door, freezer on bottom in January. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I know that every time I have to go into the freezer, I'm NOT all like "Yeah, this is nice"....but I like the 2 door full width fridge
we have (well...had. Gotta replace it now) an upright freezer in the garage that helped keep the kitchen bottom freezer somewhat organized

didn't replace it when it broke. It was just more room to keep really old stuff.
