Jordan Travis announced that he is returning for his senior year. FSU fans were wondering if he might leave for the NFL. Not projected to be a high, or even mid round pick. But, he's already got his degree and is about to get his MBA.
Definitely good news for FSU.

When Norvell came I thought it would take at least until 2023 before we could be competitive with Clemson. We should be competitive next year.
We still won't have the depth to be even in talent, but we will have enough talent and depth to be competitive.
Norvell has done it through the portal. He has hit home runs with his selections. But, even he admits you can't live off hitting homeruns in the portal every year. You have to recruit top classes from HS and cherry pick to fill a few needs through the portal. I'm optimistic, but Norvell has to upgrade our HS recruiting. Many fans of FSU seem to think his assistants are not great recruiters. Do not be surprised if a couple of defensive coaches "move on" to other schools and new defensive coaches are brought in.

Maybe the "U" will be back for the 15th year in a row (Ta He He!) GT certainly showed improvement under Key but I have little hope for VT and the others.

He had to. When he came our talent was almost as bad as our culture. And, with COVID essentially wiping out a year of recruiting (couldn't go into HS and start establishing relationships with coaches and players) he had to rely heavily on the portal.
He and the staff did a great job evaluating and recruiting the talent. (FSU was the only P5 school who offered Trey Benson, e.g. Everybody wanted Jared Verse, on the other hand, but Norvell was able to land him.)

Awesome news for you guys.. with all the ACC schools qbs transferring looks like Clemson and FSU will have to carry the ACC once again next year.
